Position Overview
Our client is seeking a Director of Business Development to drive strategic growth and revenue generation across North America. Reporting to the Chief Commercial Officer, this individual will develop and expand relationships with medical device OEMs, identify new business opportunities, and position the organization as a preferred partner for medical device design, development, and manufacturing solutions.
This is a highly visible leadership role for a proven business development professional with deep medical device industry experience and an established network of decision-makers.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and execute business development strategies that drive revenue growth and market expansion.
- Identify, qualify, and pursue new business opportunities within medical device and life sciences organizations.
- Build and maintain executive-level relationships with existing and prospective customers.
- Utilize a consultative sales approach to understand customer needs and develop tailored solutions.
- Collaborate with Engineering, Operations, Program Management, Marketing, and Sales teams to support opportunity development and successful program execution.
- Manage sales forecasts, pipeline activity, and growth objectives.
- Represent the organization at customer meetings, industry events, and trade shows.
- Provide market intelligence, competitive insights, and strategic recommendations to senior leadership.
- 10+ years of business development experience within medical device contract manufacturing.
- Proven success driving revenue growth and securing new business with medical device OEMs and/or pharmaceutical companies.
- Experience supporting Class II and Class III medical device programs, including single-use and electromechanical products.
- Established network of senior-level decision-makers within the medical device industry.
- Strong business development, relationship management, and consultative selling skills.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation abilities.
- Proven ability to influence stakeholders and collaborate across cross‑functional teams.
- Self‑motivated, results‑oriented, and comfortable working in a fast‑paced environment.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, or a related field required.
- MBA or advanced degree preferred.
This is a remote position based in the Northeast (New England, New York, or New Jersey) with regular travel required to customer sites, company facilities, and industry events.
