Role Overview
The Junior Outreach Specialist for the utility's Energy Efficiency programs will support the execution of marketing and outreach strategies that increase program participation, customer awareness, and stakeholder engagement.
Responsibilities- Increase program visibility and participation.
- Coordinate with Trade Allies and customers.
- Improve effectiveness of marketing and outreach to underserved customer segments.
- Promote Energy Efficiency programs to commercial customers and work with contractors via meetings, presentations, and networking throughout Atlantic City Electric's territory in Southern NJ.
- Support the program’s awareness and long‑term relationship management strategies by articulating offerings, qualifying leads, and assisting property owners or managers in determining potential electric Energy Efficiency improvements.
- Implement outreach campaigns – canvassing, phone calls, and email campaigns – to generate leads and opportunities for the Programs.
- Actively support day‑to‑day outreach and recruitment of Trade Allies.
- Enter and manage contacts and opportunities in the customer relationship management (CRM) database.
- Represent the program at applicable community meetings.
- Engage appropriate local and industry groups and associations.
- Represent the offering, generate leads, and answer inquiries at trade shows.
- Complete activity reports and other required reports.
- Travel approximately 50-75 % of the time within the territory.
- Work independently as a self‑starter while remaining organized.
Full‑time exempt position with up to 75 % travel within New Jersey in South Jersey. The Outreach Specialist will be responsible for following and complying with Utility Advantage’s policies and procedures.
QualificationsMinimum Requirements:
- Associate’s degree or four years of experience in sales or outreach.
- Strong time‑management skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication.
- Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in team settings to meet deadlines in a fast‑paced environment.
- Commitment to providing exceptional quality.
- Home‑office work environment with reliable high‑speed internet.
- Proven success as a self‑starter.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable automobile.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with CRM software (e.g., , Salesforce).
- Outreach or customer‑service experience supporting business customers.
- Knowledge of energy‑efficiency solutions.
- Dependable – maintains consistent work schedule and meets KPI’s.
- Detail‑oriented – focuses on finer details of work.
- Fast learner – able to follow directions, analyze & manage data, enjoys working on a computer.
- Customer and client‑focused – business‑customer experience a plus.
- Resilient – able to handle tight response time frames and remain calm under pressure.
- Adaptable – to new processes and system updates.
- Team player.
- Able to work independently and effectively in a remote work environment.
