Specialty Business Manager – Gastroenterology Specialty Sales Team

As a Specialty Business Manager you will drive product demand in targeted physician offices, key clinics and hospital accounts, delivering complex clinical and business information on gastroenterology products and services.
Responsibilities- Research prospective Health Care Professionals (HCPs) to identify the right customer stakeholders and present clinical and business information on Takeda’s products and services.
- Use insight‑based, consultative selling techniques to educate HCPs about industry trends, offering unique perspectives that link back to Takeda’s solutions.
- Engage in clinical discussions to address patients’ needs, execute brand strategies and maximize sales growth within a specific geography.
- Coach customer stakeholders and build consensus for Takeda’s solutions within their organizations.
- Collaborate with partners on routing and resource utilization to maximize overall footprint performance.
- Strategically manage and troubleshoot deal‑level challenges, independently and collaboratively.
- Attend company‑sponsored sales and medical meetings as directed by management.
- Continuously pursue professional development in sales, communication and product knowledge.
- Conduct business in accordance with all regulations and company policies, upholding high ethical standards.
- Strategically manage allocated resources, including financial budgets, managed markets, medical affairs, and home office support.
- Bachelor’s degree (BS/BA).
- 3+ years of successful selling experience in pharmaceuticals, biotechnology, medical devices or relevant clinical/industry experience; or 2+ years at Takeda.
- Ability to discuss therapeutic strategies that inform and influence decision makers.
- Strong clinical and business expertise with effective selling skills.
- Excellent verbal, influencing, presentation and written communication skills.
- Residence within or close proximity to the assigned geography.
- 5 years of pharmaceutical, biotech or medical device selling experience, or relevant clinical/industry experience.
- Execution of marketing strategies at the local level.
- Business and strategic planning skills to identify unique selling opportunities and adapt to changing market conditions.
- Understanding of managed care landscape and reimbursement strategy.
- Strong collaboration and team‑working skills.
- Experience with injectable/infused IBD products.
- Experience with complex reimbursement issues.
- Biological product launch experience.
- Experience calling on gastroenterologists.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Ability to drive and/or fly to meetings and client sites.
- Some overnight travel required – 25–50% depending on assignment.
Successful completion of mandatory product training, including written and oral examinations, is required for continued employment. Initially a non‑exempt, training period employee will accrue overtime under applicable law, and after completion will transition to exempt status with eligibility for incentive programs.
Compensation and Benefits (Summary)USD – hourly wage range $63.51–$87.31 for full‑time employees in New Mexico (virtual, remote). Salary contingent on qualifications, experience and location. U.S. based employees may be eligible for short‑term incentives and a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, vision, 401(k) with company match, disability coverage, life insurance, tuition reimbursement, paid volunteer time off, holidays, well‑being benefits, up to 80 hours of sick time annually, and up to 120 hours of paid vacation for new hires.
