Position: Account Manager - Metals and Power Conversion (M&PC)

This position reports to: Sales Manager NAM - Metals

Location & Work Model: South East and Part of Midwest region. The role involves traveling for work and working from home when not traveling.

Responsibilities
  • Communicate delivery times, payments, and general terms and conditions to customers in line with ABB’s offering and strategy.
  • Ensure efficient marketing activities and communicate the value proposition to customers.
  • Identify and drive the development of new market opportunities in the designated market.
  • Manage administrative procedures in sales processes and support cash collection and project management activities when needed.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Electronics Engineering, or equivalent education.
  • 7+ years of experience in the metals industry with knowledge of processes and detailed awareness of metal applications such as material handling, primary metals, hot and cold rolling mills, and processing lines.
  • Knowledge of AC, DC drives, motors, switchgears, MCCs, and process automation.
  • Demonstrated experience in the metals industry with the ability to manage customer accounts technically and commercially for solutions and service business.
  • Strong communication skills to engage existing customers and to make cold calls to new or unreached customers.
  • Ability to learn and absorb relevant tools within the Process Division for the metals market.
  • Proficiency with business software/platforms such as Microsoft Office, Salesforce, and others.
  • Ability to internalize customer requirements, communicate with support teams to configure equipment/systems for opportunities.
  • Proficiency in English.
