Apply to join our Insurance National Sales Desk, a fast‑paced and exciting group that serves as the foundation of the sales organization. As an Insurance National Sales Associate, you will promote River Source insurance products with Ameriprise Financial advisors, primarily via an inbound phone queue. You will also make selective proactive outbound calls. Using discretion and judgment, through a quality sales call conversation, associates will match insurance product solutions to client’s needs and goals. This is a first step into a career as a wholesaler.

Key Responsibilities
  • Learn and become an expert in River Source insurance products and strategies. Build and maintain relationships with the wholesaling team. Engage with Ameriprise advisors to learn how River Source annuity solutions fit into the financial planning process.
  • Answer calls via an inbound phone queue. Answer questions about our product line up. Use effective questioning to match our product solutions to client’s retirement and legacy needs. Run illustrations and product proposals and teach advisors how to use these tools to present our solutions to their clients. Follow up as needed to assist in closing the business and finding new opportunities.
  • Partner with wholesaling teams to identify proactive callout opportunities and determine desired outcomes. Examples include driving event attendance, notifying advisors of updated licensing requirements, and other ways to assist wholesaling teams.
  • Pass all required exams and keep current on all FINRA and state insurance training and CE requirements.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
  • Active Series 6
  • State Securities agent registrations (Series 63)
  • Resident State Insurance Licenses (Variable, Health & Life)
  • If licenses are not actively held, they must be obtained within 120 days of start date. If multiple exams are required, will be done consecutively with an additional 90‑day window after successfully passing each exam.
  • Ability to build strong relationships
  • Excellent communication and influencing skills
Preferred Qualifications
  • Knowledge of insurance products
  • Experience in the financial services industry, financial sales, or financial wholesaling
  • Ability to work on a sales and results driven team
  • Effective presentation skills

Our employees work in the office at least four (4) days per week, with flexibility to work from home one (1) day per week.

Some roles may require additional in‑office time or different in‑office expectations, and specific requirements will be discussed during the hiring process.

Base Pay Salary

The estimated hourly rate for this role is $23.55 / hour. We have a pay‑for‑performance compensation philosophy. Your initial total compensation may vary based on job‑related knowledge, skills, experience, and geographical work location. In addition, most of our roles are eligible for variable pay in the form of bonus, commissions, and/or long‑term incentives depending on the role.
