How will YOU create impact here at USP?The Business Development Manager, Biologics position leads the execution of the commercial strategy for USP’s portfolio of standards and materials for the biopharmaceutical industry in the United States. This is an important, non‑supervisory role responsible for driving revenue growth, expanding market presence, and accelerating USP’s impact across the biopharmaceutical industry in the United States.
In this role, you will be accountable for meeting revenue and unit growth annual targets in your assigned territory (United States). To achieve this, you will foster customer relationships at all levels and collaborate with multiple internal USP functions including Technical and Customer Service, Marketing, Regulatory and Scientific Affairs to deliver unmatched customer experiences.
Your activities will include regular account management and business development customer visits, business leads follow up, lead generation activities and distribution channel management.
You will lead creation and execution of account plans to position USP portfolio of standards for long‑term growth. Your focus will be on identifying, understanding, and supporting resolution of key quality challenges that developers and manufacturers of biologic drugs routinely face. You will also oversee the positioning of USP in new high‑growth therapeutic fields (cell and gene therapies, nucleic acid drugs, monoclonal antibodies, etc.)
and markets.
The successful candidate will be self‑motivated, results‑driven, collaborative, and have a passion for opening new doors and creating new opportunities.
This is a remote position residing in one of the following states:
New Hampshire, Maryland, DC, Virginia, Pennsylvania, North Carolina, or Florida, requiring up to 60% domestic travel.
This hire must reside in New Hampshire, Maryland, DC, Virginia, West Virginia, Pennsylvania, North Carolina, or Florida due to travel and client interaction purposes. USP will consider relocation assistance for those who wish to relocate from another area.
- Achieve revenue and unit growth targets for the territory and accounts.
- Develop and execute plans to protect and grow revenues at existing accounts and drive new customer acquisition. Manage sales activities in Salesforce CRM.
- Collaborate with business support functions (Marketing, Inside Sales, Science team, etc.) to support the execution of revenue growth initiatives.
