An ideal candidate for this role will reside in Eastern PA, MD, DE, or Northern VA.

Under the general supervision of the Regional Sales Manager, the incumbent is responsible for securing orders from distributors, customers, and national accounts to meet planned territory sales objectives. The position requires that the incumbent secure adequate distribution channels within the territory to ensure proper coverage and market penetration. The incumbent is also required to assist his/her direct supervisor in developing realistic sales plans and expense budgets that will ensure profitable long‑range growth.

• Secure orders through phone and personal calls on distributors and customers within the assigned territory to meet planned objectives.
• Secure adequate distribution within the territory to ensure appropriate coverage and market penetration.
• Plan weekly sales activities to ensure that key distributor and customer relations are maintained, while prioritizing the most important issues and opportunities, so they may be addressed accordingly.
• Utilize all marketing and sales literature to benefit the SAMSON distributor and aid in the growth of SAMSON sales for both the company and distributor.
• Check and maintain adequate amount of literature to secure sales opportunities and growth.
• Identify key sales opportunities, either in the form of new distribution or existing distribution to increase sales within the territory. Communicate any such opportunities to his/her direct supervisor.
• Educate distributor salespeople on the features and benefits of SAMSON’s product offering to improve their ability to sell to our mutual customers.
• Inform distributors of SAMSON’s policies, product offering, and programs to ensure they understand and utilize them appropriately for the benefit of all.
• Secure market information pertaining to new product needs, program opportunities, national account opportunities, competitive issues, and distributor issues/opportunities for communication to his/her direct supervisor.
• Prepare and submit weekly sales/activity and expense reports for his/her direct supervisor.
• Create preliminary territory sales targets and spending budgets to assist his/her direct supervisor in developing annual business plan objectives.
• Daily contact with distributors, customers, regional manager and customer service representatives. Weekly interaction with credit manager, customer service supervisor and marketing coordinator.

• High school education required. Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, with an emphasis in Marketing preferred.
• Preference of two (2) years’ experience in the lubrication industry and/or automotive aftermarket.
• Strong background in selling to and through distribution.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Desired intermediate computer skills to include Microsoft Office and basic database management.
• Overnight travel will be required. The frequency will vary based on the needs and geographic layout of the assigned sales territory.
• Professional appearance is required. Appropriate dress is business casual, khaki type pants, professional golf type shirt or collared dress shirts. Employee should always present themselves in a professional manner.
