Responsibilities
- Research prospective Health Care Professionals (HCPs) to identify customer stakeholders and present complex clinical and business information (including gastroenterologists and professional/patient groups).
- Use insight and consultative selling to teach HCPs and connect their needs to Takeda solutions.
- Engage in clinical discussions to understand patients’ needs, execute brand strategies, maximize sales growth in a specific geography, coach stakeholders, and build consensus.
- Collaborate on routing and resource utilization to maximize overall footprint performance.
- Independently and collaboratively strategize to solve deal-level challenges.
- Attend company-sponsored sales and medical meetings as directed.
- Pursue learning and professional development in sales, communication, and product knowledge.
- Perform business in accordance with regulations/policies; demonstrate high ethical and professional standards.
- Strategically manage allocated resources (financial/budgets, managed markets, medical affairs, home office, etc.).
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree (BS/BA).
- 3+ years successful pharmaceutical/biotech/medical device selling and/or relevant clinical/industry experience; or 2+ years successful selling experience at Takeda.
- Ability to discuss therapeutic strategies to inform and influence decision makers.
- Ability to develop and apply clinical and business expertise and effective selling skills.
- Strong verbal, influencing, presentation, and written communication skills.
- Reside within or close proximity to assigned geography.
Preferred:
- 5 years relevant selling experience.
- Local marketing strategy execution.
- Business and strategic planning skills; adaptability to market changes.
- Understanding of managed care landscape.
- Strong teamwork and collaboration skills.
- Experience with injectable/infused IBD products.
- Experience managing complex reimbursement issues.
- Biological product launch experience.
- Experience calling on gastroenterologists.
- Valid Driver’s License.
Drive or fly to meetings and client sites; 25–50% overnight travel.
Training RequirementsMust pass mandatory product training (written or oral exams). Training period limits apply (non-exempt; overtime eligibility during training only; no sales incentives during training). After passing exams, transition to exempt status; eligible for sales incentives and contests.
Compensation / Benefits (Location-based Summary)Base salary range (Atlanta, GA): $–$. May be eligible for incentives; medical, dental, and vision coverage; 401(k) with match; disability and life insurance; tuition reimbursement; paid volunteer time off; holidays; well-being benefits; up to 80 hours sick time per year; and up to 120 hours paid vacation for new hires.
