Our client is a well-established contract manufacturer producing a range of electro‑mechanical assemblies including sub‑fractional horsepower motors, wire harnesses, plastics, metals, and PCBs. They have facilities in Wisconsin and China and are seeking an experienced Sr. Sales Engineer to drive sales growth. This role requires a deep understanding of the manufacturing landscape, exceptional communication skills, and a proven track record of increasing OEM and business‑to‑business sales.
You will report to the president of the company.
- 2% commission on all sales for the life of the contract (estimated $40K to $50K within a couple of years, with greater growth possible) and a $10,000 first‑year incentive during the ramp‑up period.
- Health and dental insurance.
- Life and disability insurance.
- 401(k) with company match.
- Paid holidays and vacation time.
- Relocation assistance available for the right candidate.
- Sales Strategy Development:
Create and implement effective sales strategies to achieve revenue targets and expand market presence. - Client Relationship Management:
Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients, understanding their needs and providing tailored solutions. - Market Analysis:
Conduct market research to identify trends, opportunities, and competitive landscape, adjusting strategies accordingly. - Collaboration:
Work closely with production, marketing, and logistics teams to ensure seamless execution of client projects. - Reporting:
Prepare and present sales forecasts, reports, and performance metrics to senior management.
- 5+ years of contract sales to OEM or business‑to‑business in the electro‑mechanical assemblies space, including small motors, wire harnesses, plastics, metals, and PCBs.
- Ability to build strong interpersonal relationships with customers (e.g., call instead of email, and visit prospects).
- Self‑motivated and able to find and exploit the market, with excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- The greater your technical skills and academic background, the better—an engineering degree is highly desirable.
- 30% to 50% travel will be required nationally, with one day in the office per week on average and the balance of time working from home or at the office.
