Position: Sales Representative (Seattle, WA)

The Opportunity

Avantor is looking for a dedicated, high-energy Sales Representative to maintain and grow our Pharma, Biotech, Industrial, and Research sales efforts within the Seattle region. You will be part of a team that empowers customers to focus on what matters most, from discovery to delivery. Backed by a diverse portfolio and global reach, you will provide mission‑critical solutions, including products, services, and technology, that integrate into customers’ workflows and meet regulatory requirements.

Education

& Experience
  • College degree or equivalent/applicable experience required.
  • 3‑5 years of experience working in a complex sales environment with solution‑based selling.
  • Business‑to‑business sales experience, with preference for those with distribution experience and a scientific background or laboratory/research experience.
  • Holder of a valid Driver’s License.
Preferred Experience
  • Experience in laboratory or research environment and/or scientific background.
Qualifications
  • A proven track record of verifiable sales success driving growth with a consultative, strategic selling approach.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively utilize best‑in‑class selling processes (SPIN, Challenger, Miller Heiman) and technology platforms, including  and Qlikview.
  • Excellent communication and team interaction skills, routinely interacting with customers, manufacturers, and staff.
  • Ability to conduct business conversations with owners and decision makers, handle difficult situations, and work independently to manage time and territory.
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to sell strategically within an account, understanding individual customer operations.
  • Willingness to travel to customer locations 4+ days a week.
Responsibilities
  • Sell products and/or services to a group of clients and identify new and potential customers to reach profitability and billing targets within the Seattle, WA sales territory.
  • Negotiate, execute, and close sales, including installation or delivery and post‑sale services.
  • Secure and maintain distribution of products and/or services, manage effective agreements, and execute company‑defined sales and marketing strategies.
  • Provide Avantor solutions to customers across assigned market segments, developing strategic territory business plans to achieve sales growth and quota attainment.
  • Prospect and establish new customers by managing a sales pipeline, developing and delivering proposals that illustrate Avantor’s value proposition.
  • Build and sustain relationships with customers to ensure satisfaction and loyalty; expand Avantor’s role with existing customers by developing retention strategies.
  • Leverage resources to implement the company marketing plan, strategies, and sales processes.
  • Represent and develop strong relationships with manufacturers; collaborate with local manufacturer representatives to improve product knowledge, pricing, and account profitability.
Working Conditions

Typically works in a home office environment with extensive regional travel to customer locations. Work assignments are diversified. Some physical effort is required, such as walking, standing, bending, and lifting objects that typically weigh less than 10 lbs.

Pay Transparency

Pre‑tax base salary: $59,150.00 – $. Incentive compensation (Target Cash Opportunity) ranges from $98,600.00 to $, based on achieved sales. Actual pay may differ depending on experience and location.
