Proposal Manager

Summary

Under the supervision of the Director of Transit OE Sales and Business Development, the Proposal Manager’s primary responsibility is the preparation of tenders/proposals to the customer and the management of that process until contract signature.

• Bachelor’s degree is required; a technical related degree is a plus.
• Minimum of 5 years of sales and marketing experience, rail industry experience is preferred.

• Ultimate responsibility for the accuracy and timeliness in the preparation and submittal of the commercial proposals to customers.
• Ensure that the technical proposals are completed by engineering as required to support the bid requirements and submitted to the customer.
• Act as the key point of contact with customers, responsible for daily interaction with customer commercial and technical representatives during the bid phase.
• Support and coordinate proposal activity with other Wabtec product lines.
• Review and negotiate contract terms and conditions.
• Prepare financial analysis, risk analysis and win strategies for bids.
• Prepare Tender Review packages for bids for approval by senior management.
• Ensure that the documentation associated with a bid is managed in a systematic way so that it may be handed over to the project manager at the appropriate time.
• Ensure that the activities associated with the proposal are followed in accordance with ISO/IRIS standards.
• Prepare market analysis of opportunities and strategies to win future business.
• Track and organize competitive sales/marketing data.

• Relocation assistance may be provided if eligibility requirements are met.
• Remote work will be considered, but relocation is preferred.
• Proficiency in French is preferred, though not required.
