Business Development Manager – Mechanical Construction

The Opportunity

The Business Development Manager will lead growth initiatives across mechanical and construction sectors, strengthening relationships with general contractors, engineers, and facility owners. This position requires a balance of technical understanding and relationship-driven sales leadership.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and execute business-development strategies targeting mechanical construction markets.
  • Identify and pursue new opportunities within HVAC, plumbing, and design-build services.
  • Build and sustain relationships with contractors, developers, and end-users at decision-making levels.
  • Collaborate with estimating, operations, and project teams to prepare proposals and bids.
  • Represent the company at industry associations, conferences, and regional events.
  • Maintain accurate CRM records, pipeline forecasts, and market intelligence reports.
  • Provide strategic feedback to leadership regarding trends, opportunities, and competitor activity.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Construction Management, Engineering, or related discipline; advanced degree.
  • Minimum five years of business-development experience within mechanical contracting or construction services.
  • Proven record of cultivating long-term relationships and delivering measurable revenue growth.
  • Working knowledge of mechanical systems, project delivery, and construction processes.
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with disciplined follow-through.
