Help people navigate one of life's biggest transitions. If you enjoy helping people through emotional decisions while building relationships and growing business, this sales position may be a fit for you! We're looking for a relationship-driven Sales and Account Manager who enjoys helping people solve complex problems and make confident decisions. This job is part sales consultant, part project advisor, and part trusted guide.
In this role, you'll meet with clients who are preparing for major life transitions—downsizing, relocating, aging-in-place, estate settlements, or moving into senior living communities. You'll meet people who are downsizing after 40 years in a home, helping parents move into assisted living, settling estates, or relocating for major life changes. Although we work with families of all sizes at all stages of life, our largest client base is seniors who are in transition.
This is not a traditional, transactional sales job. You will not be pushing products, closing quick deals, or making cold calls. At Moyer, our sales process is built entirely on deep human connection, emotional intelligence, and long-term project stewardship. We help families navigate major, often stressful life transitions. Success in this role is driven by your ability to earn a family's trust, guide them through an emotional downsizing process, and oversee the flawless execution of their move through coordinated services.
On a day-to-day basis, you'll assess clients' needs, explain our services, prepare proposals, and guide clients through the decision-making process. This is not a high-pressure sales role. Success comes from building trust, understanding client needs, and creating solutions that make the moving process easier.
On a day-to-day basis, you will be working out of your home office and hitting the road to meet clients face-to-face in their homes. In-person staff meetings are occasionally required.
What you'll actually be doing:- Meeting clients in their homes to listen to their stories, calming their anxieties, and understanding their unique transition needs
- In some cases, conducting virtual consultations
- Understanding client goals and challenges
- Converting leads into clients by building tailored, compassionate moving and downsizing plans and estimates
- Managing the client relationship from estimate to move day, including addressing changing needs, coordinating Moyer services and managing third-party vendor referrals
- Acting as the bridge between sales and operations, personally stepping in to ensure the move team executes the project exactly as promised
- Managing logistics, coordinating timelines, and handling any unexpected on-the-move challenges to keep the client's experience stress-free
- Cultivating trust-based relationships with local professionals (senior living directors, real estate agents, estate attorneys) who will confidently refer clients to you
- Working closely with operations teams to ensure smooth client transitions
- Like meeting new people every day
- Love working with older adults
- Enjoy consultative selling rather than transactional selling
- Are comfortable discussing sensitive life transitions
- Can build trust quickly
Are self‑motivated and enjoy managing your own schedule
- You dislike networking and relationship‑building
- You think that project management is not part of your role as a salesperson
- You prefer working behind a desk all day
- Having difficult conversations makes you uncomfortable
- You need highly structured daily routines
