Position: Regional Wholesaler (RVP) - IMO Annuity

This role is eligible to work anywhere in the Lower 48 states. This is an H.99 band role.

Job Description Summary

Our team works to elevate opportunities to expand the reach of our annuity distribution. We’re focused on creating and designing the strategic path forward, using all of the tools and resources we have, as well as building and growing profitable, sustainable relationships. Key Responsibilities
  • Identify, meet and connect with IMOs and financial professionals to promote Nationwide products and services.
  • Assist IMOs in identifying and marketing to financial professionals.
  • Consult with and educate IMOs on all aspects of annuity business.
  • Encourage repeat business with IMOs.
  • Coordinate with Nationwide’s team of specialists regarding cross‑selling opportunities, referrals and joint meetings.
  • Call on IMOs within assigned territory to establish General Agency Agreements.
  • Market products and provide training on products.
  • Provide field support and expertise to producers, including public seminars and client visitations.
  • Represent Nationwide through exhibitor booths, seminars and presentations, top producers and other formal IMO gatherings.
  • Collect IMO input, suggestions and questions on financial service products.
  • Provide customer service support to IMOs as a communication link to the corporate office.
  • Provide weekly updates on activity to sales management.
  • Coordinate the licensing of IMOs and producers with IMOs.
  • Manage territory to minimize disruption with other distribution systems.
  • Provide input on products and services that will serve client needs and produce sufficient volume and profits.
  • Manage territory activities to assure they meet overall company objectives.
  • Establish a follow‑up system to visit key IMO offices on a regular basis.
  • Perform additional responsibilities as assigned.
Reporting Relationships

Reports to Sales Manager.

Typical Skills and Experience Education

Undergraduate studies in business, finance, communications or liberal arts preferred.

License / Certification / Designation

FINRA Series6 or7, Series
63, Series
65, state life/annuity insurance agent licenses required. CLU, ChFC, FLMI, CFP, ASPPA designations preferred. Associates must acquire the required federal and/or state licenses/registrations within the time period designated by the business unit. If an associate fails to acquire required licenses/registrations within the designated time period, the associate will be ineligible to continue in the position.

Experience

Five years of internal or external wholesaling experience in financial service products through broker‑dealer firms.

Knowledge,

Skills and Abilities
  • Solid understanding of college‑level mathematics, finance, statistics, economics and investment management theories/practices.
  • Knowledge of financial service products, annuities, life insurance, contracts, securities trading and regulations, competitor products, policies, practices and procedures in customer service and investment products processing.
  • Very strong social skills; proven ability to communicate.
  • Ability to effectively present state continuing education courses to industry professionals.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills.
  • Leadership skills, competencies and experiences may also be considered.
Job Conditions

Overtime Eligibility:
Exempt (not eligible). Working conditions include virtual, work from home, sales office environment, residing in assigned territory. Requires frequent field travel and may require overnight travel.

Credit check: A valid credit and/or background check will be required as part of the selection process.
