Job Description

Join Takeda as a Regional Business Director for the Great Lakes region (Wisconsin, Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, Ohio, Kentucky, Tennessee). In this role you will lead the Gastroenterology Rare Disease Sales Team, managing a team of Regional Business Managers to promote Takeda’s Rare Disease product portfolio to medical professionals.

Objectives
  • Achieve Business Unit sales objectives through planning and implementing Quarterly Business Reviews and coaching for success.
  • Build and lead the regional sales team, provide support and coaching, establish and manage relationships with key customers, oversee sales operations and budgets.
Accountabilities
  • Plan, direct, implement, and oversee sales representative activities and policies for the region.
  • Implement marketing strategies and plans at the regional level to meet quarterly and yearly company sales objectives.
  • Review implementation of the sales plan quarterly to ensure objectives are achieved.
  • Analyze territories to identify additional business opportunities and improve effectiveness.
  • Maintain in-depth knowledge of local customers and networks.
  • Communicate personnel, product, market activity and issues to management.
  • Coordinate selling efforts with managed care and national accounts.
  • Communicate expectations and standards of performance to representatives.
  • Observe, document and provide feedback on sales rep performance.
  • Coach sales reps to maximize performance and support professional development.
  • Recruit, train, and manage performance of the team.
  • Manage expenses within allocated budget.
  • Plan and conduct POA/launch meetings per business unit marketing plans.
  • Serve as liaison between corporate office and field sales.
Education and Skills Required
  • Bachelor’s degree (BS/BA).
  • 3–5 years of experience as a pharmaceutical representative with proven sales success.
  • Experience selling or managing reps in an institutional environment.
  • Business and strategic planning skills to identify selling opportunities and adapt to market changes.
  • Coaching, delegating, and motivating a sales team with timely feedback.
  • Ability to analyze complex data to develop strategic business plans.
  • Strong verbal, written, and presentation communication skills.
  • Residence within or proximal to assigned geography.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite.
Preferred
  • 2–3 years of pharmaceutical district management experience.
  • Product launch or turnaround experience.
  • Experience selling or managing reps within Rare Disease.
  • GI experience.
  • MBA or Master’s degree.

Travel Requirements
