Role Description
The Senior Outside Sales MEP Representative is a full-time hybrid role based in Richmond Hill, ON, with a mix of on‑site customer visits, office time, and some work-from-home flexibility. This role focuses on driving sales growth across mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) segments by managing existing accounts and developing new business within commercial, industrial, contractor, and residential markets. Day-to-day responsibilities include planning and conducting in-person and virtual sales calls, delivering product and solution-focused presentations, and identifying opportunities to bring solutions forward to our customers.
The representative will collaborate closely with inside sales and counter staff to coordinate quotes, follow up on orders, and resolve customer issues promptly. Regular activities also involve territory planning, pipeline management, maintaining accurate sales note records, monitoring market trends, and representing Hill Supplies at industry events or trade shows as needed.
- Strong consultative sales skills, including New Business Development and effective Sales Presentations tailored to MEP clients.
- Proven ability in Relationship Building and Customer Service, with a focus on long-term partnerships and client retention.
- Excellent Communication skills, both verbal and written, for engaging with contractors, facility managers, and internal teams.
- Experience selling electrical, plumbing, heating, lighting, or related industrial/safety products in commercial and contractor markets (1 product vertical mandatory)
- Demonstrated success in outside or field sales, including territory management and consistent achievement of sales targets.
- Knowledge of MEP systems, energy‑efficient technologies, and sustainability-focused solutions is highly beneficial.
- Comfort with CRM tools, basic data analysis, and Microsoft Office or comparable productivity software.
- Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation for customer visits, and ability to work in a hybrid office/field/home environment.
- Relevant post-secondary education (e.g., business, technical, or trade-related) or equivalent combination of training and experience.
