Position Summary
Specialty Business Manager – Gastroenterology Specialty Sales Team, based in Jackson, MS (Virtual). Responsible for driving product demand in physician offices, key clinics, and hospital accounts within the territory.
Key Responsibilities- Research prospective Healthcare Professionals to identify key stakeholders and present clinical and business information regarding Takeda products.
- Use consultative selling techniques to educate HCPs about industry trends and link back to Takeda solutions.
- Engage in clinical discussions with HCPs to address patient needs, execute brand strategies, and maximize sales growth within the geography.
- Coach customer stakeholders and build consensus for Takeda solutions within their organization.
- Collaborate with partners on routing and resource utilization to maximize overall footprint performance.
- Strategically manage allocated resources including financial, budgets, managed markets, medical affairs, and home office.
- Attend company-sponsored sales and medical meetings as directed by management.
- Pursue continuous learning and professional development in sales, communication, and product knowledge.
- Perform business activities in compliance with all regulations, policies, and procedures, maintaining high ethical and professional standards.
- Bachelor’s degree (BS/BA).
- 3+ years of successful selling experience in pharmaceutical, biotech, or medical device industry, and/or relevant clinical or industry experience.
- OR 2+ years of successful selling experience at Takeda.
- Ability to discuss therapeutic strategies and influence decision-makers.
- Strong verbal, influencing, presentation, and written communication skills.
- Ability to develop and apply clinical and business expertise with effective selling skills.
- 5 years of experience selling in pharmaceutical, biotech, or medical device and/or relevant clinical or industry experience.
- Execution of marketing strategies at the local level.
- Business and strategic planning skills with ability to identify unique selling opportunities.
- Adaptability to changing market conditions.
- Understanding of managed care landscape and its impact on business.
- Strong collaboration skills and success working in teams.
- Experience with injectable/infused IBD products.
- Experience in managing complex reimbursement issues.
- Biological product launch experience.
- Experience calling on Gastroenterologists.
- Valid Driver’s License.
Ability to drive and/or fly to meetings and client sites. Some overnight travel required – 25‑50%, depending on geographic assignment.
Training RequirementsPosition and continued employment is contingent upon successful completion of mandatory product training, which includes written and oral examinations. During the training period, the employee will be classified as a non‑exempt employee and eligible for overtime during that period only, but not eligible for any Takeda related sales incentive programs. Training consists of live instruction, independent study, role play, and other training activities totaling no more than 8 hours per day and 40 hours in a workweek.
After successful completion, the employee will transition to exempt status and become eligible for standard compensation and incentive programs.
Hourly wage range for Mississippi (Virtual U.S.) positions: $63.51 – $87.31.
