We are looking for a dynamic, results-driven Business Development Lead to lead growth initiatives in Canada’s defence sector. This role requires deep industry relationships, strategic thinking, and technical familiarity with composite armour systems and military procurement processes.
In this exciting role you’ll be at the forefront of our growth strategy, developing and executing winning sales campaigns, forging strong customer relationships, and delivering real impact in the defence and security sector.
The role is primarily site-based, but there can be some flexibility around your working schedule and remote work, where suitable. Some travel, both domestic and international, may be required.

- Support the development and execute winning business plans targeting Canadian defence customers, including DND, OEMs, and integrators.
- Leverage existing relationships within the Canadian Armed Forces, defence contractors, and government agencies to identify new opportunities.
- Collaborate with Marketing, including gathering and analyzing market data, and providing input for communications planning and marketing activities.
- Promote the composite armour systems portfolio, including body armour, helmets, EOD suits, vehicle and platform armour.
- Influence customer requirements to align with NP Aerospace solutions.
- Collaborate with engineering and product teams to tailor solutions to client requirements.
- Inform and provide input to the NP Aerospace Research and Development Plan.
- Inform and influence the relevant business functions to deliver winning solutions and bids and support the Bid Management Team in responding to tenders.
- Prepare quotes for customers and manage supporting correspondence.
- When appropriate, coordinate delivery activities and consult with customers post-contract award.
- Work cross-functionally with the global Director of Business Development in the UK, and the Business Development Lead for Vehicle Systems, Services and Spares to ensure a cohesive and collaborative customer approach.
- Represent NP Aerospace at defence industry events, trade shows and exhibitions.
- Engage with internal stakeholders, particularly the engineering community, to deliver coherent and accurate information to customers.
- Update and maintain leads, active deal opportunities and customers within the CRM.

EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION & SKILLS Essential- University degree, college diploma, or relevant sales experience.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in business development or sales within the defence manufacturing or military technology sector.
- Strong network within Canadian defence organizations and procurement bodies.
