About PVFARM

At PVFARM, we’re redefining how solar projects are developed and optimized through a smart, data-driven software solution. Our mission is to empower renewable energy professionals with tools that accelerate growth, increase efficiency, and drive sustainable impact globally.

As we scale across the United States, we’re hiring a hands-on, entrepreneurial Business Development Manager to build top-of-funnel pipeline. This is a strategic, industry-facing role focused on identifying, engaging, and qualifying opportunities—then connecting them to our Account Executives. You won’t be responsible for running or closing the full sales cycle; your success is measured by high-quality opportunities created and smooth handoffs that set our AEs up to win.

We’re looking for someone deeply embedded in utility-scale solar who understands the realities of project development and can credibly engage developers, EPCs, IPPs, and OEMs.

Key Responsibilities

Industry Network & Relationship Building

  • Leverage your U.S. solar network to generate qualified leads and accelerate first conversations.
  • Position PVFARM as a trusted, high-value technology solution by aligning to customer objectives.
  • Nurture relationships across development, engineering, and procurement.
  • Proactively identify and engage prospects via email, Linked In, phone, referrals, and industry events.
  • Maintain clean, up-to-date activity and pipeline hygiene in CRM (Hub Spot).
  • Iterate messaging using data, experiments, and customer feedback.

Discovery, Qualification & Handoff

  • Run initial discovery to confirm fit (use case, timeline, authority, budget/context).
  • Create and document qualified opportunities, then schedule and brief the appropriate Account Executive for seamless handoff.
  • Track SLAs and conversion metrics (meetings set → SQLs → opportunities created).

Strategic Collaboration

  • Partner closely with AEs on territory plans, account mapping, and event follow-up.
  • Collaborate with Marketing on campaigns, content, and events to drive inbound and accelerate outbound.
  • Share market insights with Product and Customer Success.
  • Build ABM account plans that identify decision makers, champions, and warm introductions, prioritizing outreach for fastest path to impact.
  • Leverage PVFARM’s insights and content to open doors, shape the problem statement, and secure AE-ready meetings.

Events & Market Presence

  • Make connections to attendees pre-conference, setup meetings
  • Represent PVFARM at trade shows, conferences, webinars, and regional meetups to generate pipeline (virtual and in-person).

Required Qualifications

  • 3–7 years in business development, Sales, or partner-facing roles within renewable energy ideally focused on utility-scale solar.
  • Existing network in the U.S. solar and utility-scale markets.
  • Proven track record against pipeline KPIs (meetings set, SQLs created, qualified opportunities opened).
  • Solid grasp of the solar project lifecycle (development, engineering/design, procurement, operations).
  • Proficiency with CRM tools such as Hub Spot or Salesforce.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Authorized to work in the United States.
  • Willingness to travel domestically (25%) for meetings and events.

Preferred Attributes

  • Self-motivated and entrepreneurial; comfortable operating independently and taking initiative.
  • Professional background in renewable energy, engineering, energy systems, or similar.
  • Technically fluent able to engage engineers and solar professionals on design software, layout optimization, and project constraints.
  • Well-organized with strong time management across multiple accounts and activities.
  • Passionate about sales, renewable energy, and contributing to a mission-driven company.
