Field Sales Professional – Overview
BSN SPORTS, part of Varsity Brands, seeks a full‑time hybrid Field Sales Professional to serve as a consultative partner to schools, clubs, youth leagues, and community athletic programs throughout the Cleveland, Canton, and Akron territories. The role involves full‑cycle sales, from prospecting and lead generation to account management and post‑sale service, with a focus on simplifying operations for coaches and program leaders.
Responsibilities- Provide best‑in‑class, consultative customer service to coaches across an assigned territory.
- Generate revenue and meet sales and growth targets.
- Actively develop and qualify leads through cold‑calling and lead‑generation campaigns.
- Handle rejection with resilience and turn challenges into opportunities.
- Navigate the company’s CRM to support prospecting, account management, and activity tracking.
- Increase sales in existing accounts by selling across all sports and all levels.
- Utilize data‑driven insights to identify new trends and opportunities.
- Manage account lists and travel on‑location within the assigned territory.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- High level of self‑direction and autonomy in managing tasks and projects.
- Excellent problem‑solving, organizational, and multi‑tasking skills.
- Strong verbal and written communication abilities.
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and CRM.
- Ability to establish a distraction‑free in‑home office environment.
Education & Experience
- 3+ years of B2B outside sales experience (preferably in sporting goods) or a sports/coach background.
- Associate’s degree or equivalent work experience; bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Reliable vehicle, valid driver’s license, auto insurance, and satisfactory driving record.
