As a New Business Development Sales Representative, you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative people around the world. You will make an impact by:
- Selling and marketing 3M CBG brands:
Scotch®, Scotch Blue™, Post‑it®, Command™, Filtrete™, 3M Safety Products, Scotchbrite®, Scotchgard™, Bondo®, Meguiar’s®, Ace™, Futuro™, & Nexcare™ into new channels and markets. - Employing entrepreneurial thinking for new account prospecting, vetting, onboarding, and activation to accelerate sales growth.
- Coordinating new business development efforts with Sales Management, Portfolio Teams (APL’s, CDM’s), Shopper Marketing, Sales Operations, Finance, Business Analytics, and Supply Chain.
- Developing relationships with key stakeholders both external and internal through a top‑down, bottom‑up, inside‑out approach.
- Managing sales estimates, MDF, rebates, claims, and travel budgets.
- Interpreting industry trends, customer requirements, and business objectives to define guidelines and methods to achieve sales targets.
This position requires driving a company vehicle, which will require pre‑employment and ongoing review of motor vehicle history for candidates who are offered and hired.
Your Skills and ExpertiseTo set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires the following qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or higher (completed and verified prior to start).
- Two (2) years of sales experience with account‑management responsibility in a retail, private, public, government, or military environment.
- Current, valid driver’s license.

- Experience working with digital marketing tactics, e‑commerce, and AI.
- Experience calling on national key accounts.
- Experience managing brokers, distributors, and wholesalers.
- Knowledge of customer and dealer‑centric tools.
- Expertise with Sales Force, Power BI, Salsify, Workday, SharePoint, Microsoft Teams, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Demonstrated experience of effective negotiation skills and strategic planning.
- Willingness to make the call and relentless approach to developing new business for 3M.
- Work location:
3M Center or remote U.S. - Remote work possible for candidates located more than 50 miles from 3M Global Headquarters in St. Paul, MN.
- Travel may include up to 50% domestic or international.
- Relocation may be authorized.
Compensation range: $90,361 – $110,442, which includes base pay plus variable incentive pay, if eligible.
