Position Overview
The Associate Director, Thought Leader Liaison – Gastroenterology is a field-based, non‑sales role focused on enhancing interactions with external Gastroenterology Key Thought Leaders (KTLs). The role involves engaging, developing advocacy, capturing insights, and liaising with multiple functional partners across Marketing, Medical Affairs, Sales, and Market Access. The position reports to the National Director, Thought Leader Liaisons, within the Commercial organization.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct discussions related to therapeutic areas, disease states, and general corporate overviews with KTLs.
- Collaborate and communicate cross‑functionally to ensure strategic and tactical cohesiveness concerning assigned Thought Leaders.
- Plan and execute key thought leader engagements and senior executive encounters at local, regional, and national conferences, product‑oriented assessments (POAs), field engagements, and other venues, ensuring compliance.
- Act as a liaison between thought leaders and home office cross‑functional teams.
- Assist with on‑label key thought leader development, including speakers, with approved decks and materials.
- Facilitate speaker logistical and scheduling activities and coordinate timely communication across functions.
- Provide feedback on GI franchise and brand‑related marketing strategies/materials to commercial leadership.
- Recommend advisory board participants and attend advisory boards when required.
- Facilitate speaker bureau management, including speaker recommendations and contracting when requested.
- Remain knowledgeable of all relevant laws, regulations, and corporate policies.
Territory includes Texas, New Mexico, Oklahoma, Arkansas, and Louisiana. The role requires 60–80% travel and must be based within the assigned geographic area with a valid driver’s license.
Qualifications- Bachelor’s degree;
Master’s degree or advanced education/certification is a plus. - Minimum five years of experience in key thought leader management, market development, field sales, product marketing, or medical/clinical roles, preferably within Gastroenterology and/or Allergy, or a similar subcutaneous or self‑injectable biologic specialty market.
- Launch experience preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to lead cross‑functional teams toward a shared vision of success.
- Strong presentation skills tailored to diverse audiences.
- Proven leadership experience and strong organizational skills.
- Excellent project management, analytical, and planning abilities; capable of handling multiple projects simultaneously.
- Ability to complete strategic and tactical plans under tight timelines.
