Area Director of Education

Job Summary

The Area Director of Education is responsible for meeting census growth goals by supporting and monitoring the implementation of our sales model, supervising partnership development representatives, and delivering education and training to site leadership and sales staff.

Responsibilities
  • Provide leadership and accountability by coaching, developing, and retaining a high‑performing sales team.
  • Monitor progress toward admit and census goals; take prompt action on performance gaps.
  • Achieve census growth goals for the program.
  • Assist the ED/DHCS/ADO/RVP/Market President in managing sales representatives and admission staff as needed.
  • Track first and second sales activities to ensure effective model implementation.
  • Collaborate with the VP of Sales & Marketing, Regional Sales Director, and Home Office Marketing to surface sales needs and communicate competitive information.
  • Work with marketing staff to develop, implement, and maintain the annual marketing plan.
  • Establish direct relationships with large preferred accounts, including physician accounts, nursing homes, assisted‑living facilities, managed care companies, and hospitals.
  • Participate in recruiting and hiring of sales representatives.
  • Coordinate local events and conferences.
  • Support contracting efforts of regional and area teams.
  • Ensure compliance with corporate identity and admissions access standards.
  • Report potential misconduct or violations of conduct policies and applicable laws.
  • Supervise the entire admission process from marketing to intake/referral calls.
  • Act as a brand champion, promoting company mission and vision consistently.
  • Develop department goals, construct strategies and plans, and assess results.
  • Participate in admission forecasting and budgeting.
  • Maintain contacts with key referral sources to generate program referrals.
  • Train and mentor all admission staff in proper procedures.
  • Document processes professionally, accurately, and on time.
Additional Responsibilities
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Conform to all applicable agency policies and procedures.
  • Actively engage in continuing education and in‑services.
  • Maintain confidentiality of patient information and business practices.
  • Report incidents and complaints per agency policy.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • Organizational and time‑management skills.
  • Ability to supervise in line with agency policies and applicable laws.
  • Strong written and verbal communication.
  • Basic math skills related to patient care.
  • Capacity to respond to inquiries, complaints, and regulatory agencies.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 2–5 years of sales and marketing experience.
  • Driver’s license and proof of current auto liability insurance; not listed in the OIG Excluded Provider listing.
Environmental Conditions

Multi‑facility and office work; flexible schedule; local travel; exposure to variable weather and moderate noise. May involve brief exposure to blood borne pathogens and moderate stress.

Physical Requirements

Sitting required; must handle stressful situations calmly; ability to travel.
