This position reports to:
Sales Manager NAM - Metals
This role involves the sales of products/systems/services within a designated market/division in line with the division strategy. Each day, you will achieve both qualitative and quantitative sales targets to ensure sustainable order growth, revenues, profitability, market share, and customer satisfaction. You will also showcase your expertise by identifying and developing new sales opportunities.
Work model: Travel for work and work from home when not travelling.
Business area and stakeholders: Metals and Power Conversion group in the Process Industries division under Automation business area in South East and part of Midwest region. Main stakeholders are metals industry customers, manufacturers of steel, aluminum, copper and other metals.
Responsibilities- Communicate to customers about delivery time, payments, and general terms and conditions in line with ABB’s offering and strategy.
- Ensure efficient marketing activities and communicate our value proposition to customers.
- Identify and drive the development of new market opportunities in the designated market.
- Manage administrative procedures in sales processes and support cash collection and project management activities when needed.
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Electronics Engineering, or equivalent education.
- 7+ years of experience in the metals industry, with understanding of processes and detailed knowledge of some metal applications (e.g., material handling, primary metals, hot and cold rolling, processing lines).
- Knowledge of AC, DC drives, motors, switchgears, MCC’s and process automation.
- Ability to demonstrate experience in the metals industry and manage customers’ accounts techni‑commercially for solutions and service business.
- Strong communication skills to make cold calls and establish relationships with new/unreached customers.
- Ability to learn and absorb relevant tools within the Process Division Industry for metals market.
- Proficiency in general business software/platforms like Microsoft Word, Excel, SFDC, etc.
- Ability to internalize customer requirements and communicate with the supporting team to have appropriate equipment/systems configured.
- Comfortable communicating in English.
