Area Sales Manager – Greater Phoenix (Field-Based / Remote within Market)

Phoenix, AZ Metro Area | Full-Time | Local Travel Required

Position Summary

Pella is seeking an Area Sales Manager to lead and develop a high-performing team of sales consultants in the Greater Phoenix market
. This role is responsible for driving revenue growth, expanding market share, and delivering exceptional customer experiences within the builder and trade channel.

This is a field-based leadership role
, with over 50% of your time spent coaching in the field, developing talent, and strengthening relationships with builders, contractors, and trade professionals.

What You’ll Do
  • Lead your team to achieve sales targets, profitability goals, and customer satisfaction objectives
  • Coach consultants on consultative, value-based selling techniques
  • Monitor performance, provide actionable feedback, and drive continuous improvement
  • Foster a culture focused on delivering “Very Satisfied” customer outcomes
Expand Market Growth
  • Grow market share through networking, referrals, and lead generation
  • Support your team in acquiring new customers and securing first sales
  • Build strong, lasting relationships with builders, contractors, and trade professionals
  • Represent Pella at local industry events, trade shows, and associations
  • Recruit, hire, and onboard top-performing sales consultants
  • Provide hands‑on coaching in objection handling, closing strategies, and relationship management
  • Strengthen product knowledge, including installation practices and field applications
  • Empower decision‑making while supporting problem resolution
Drive Operational Excellence
  • Ensure accurate quoting and ordering aligned with the Trade Selling Process
  • Promote disciplined discounting and value‑based selling
  • Partner with Service, Operations, and AR to deliver seamless customer experiences
  • Assist with forecasting, budgeting, and performance reporting
Enhance Customer Experience
  • Promote strong follow‑up and proactive customer engagement
  • Ensure consultants act as trusted advisors and primary contacts
  • Address escalated issues with urgency and professionalism
  • Drive retention through exceptional service and relationship management
What You Bring
  • Strong leadership and coaching skills with a passion for developing others
  • Proven success in consultative B2B sales and relationship‑building
  • Ability to motivate, influence, and drive accountability across a team
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and problem‑solving skills
  • High level of resilience, adaptability, and accountability
  • Proficiency with CRM tools, Microsoft Office, and mobile technology
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and job specifications
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 3–5+ years of sales and/or leadership experience
  • Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced, field environment
  • Field‑based role with frequent travel across the Greater Phoenix market
  • Work from a home office while supporting customers at job sites, showrooms, and offices
  • Environment ranges from office settings to active construction sites
  • Ability to occasionally lift up to 50 pounds using proper technique
