Field Applications Engineer – Rochester

We are looking for a Field Applications Engineer (FAE) who can combine technical expertise and business savvy to identify, source, win and support new business opportunities. This role requires intermediate-to-advanced proficiency with Excel and PowerPoint, and the ability to quickly master CRM and business intelligence tools such as Oracle, Salesforce, and Microsoft Power BI. The FAE must be a self‑starter who prioritizes activities to maximize design wins and sales revenue around our electronic component products and services.

The ideal candidate will support sales teams with customer technical issues, proactively pursue new opportunities, and be comfortable navigating our sales support systems to generate new leads independently.

• Spend the majority of your time in front of customers to influence component selection.
• Use an advanced understanding of customer needs and technical expertise to champion return on engineering investment.
• Manage supplier and customer expectations, building relationships and keeping stakeholders informed of progress.
• Grow your account base each quarter.
• Drive demand creation by maximizing Arrow content in designs and leveraging engineering and design services to facilitate customer solutions.
• Identify solutions and resolutions to customer design needs and issues.
• Monitor performance metrics and take corrective action to meet or exceed targets.
• Present technical seminars and workshops across supplier lines.
• Provide frequent updates to field sales teams and motivate around supplier lines.
• Partner with sales across pre‑ and post‑sales activities, offering technical support and consulting to promote demand creation.
• Attend strategic branch meetings, QBRs, and organize engineering customer events.
• Meet with suppliers to review recent customer design activity and promote compelling solutions.
• Attend supplier trainings in person and via conference calls.

• In‑depth knowledge of system, board, and engineering solutions and electronic components.
• Broad knowledge of electronic components.
• Experience with design engineering.
• Ability to solve complex problems and apply new perspectives to existing solutions.
• Independent worker who requires minimal guidance.
• Resource for colleagues with less experience.
• Stays up‑to‑date on supplier products and Arrow design services to act as a technical‑marketing advisor.

Typically requires a 4‑year degree (electrical engineering strongly preferred) and a minimum of 5 years of related experience, or an advanced degree without experience.

Hybrid: 1 day in office / 4 days working on the road or from home in the Rochester/Upstate NY market.
