Position: Sales Consultant (Online Sales)

Summary:

This role is responsible for driving sales through high-volume inbound customer enquiries across the company's omni-channel digital platforms, including Whats App Business, web chat and social media.

The primary focus is converting enquiries into sales by understanding customer needs, preparing quotations, recommending suitable products, proactively following up on opportunities, and delivering an excellent customer experience. The role also includes sales administration, order processing, and occasional support for the Takealot and Amazon sales platforms.

Monday – Friday, 08:00–16:30 (On-site)

Responsibilities:

Online Sales & Customer Communication

  • Manage inbound customer enquiries across Cater Wize's omni-channel digital platforms, including Respond.io (Whats App Business, website chat and social media), website enquiries, and other online sales channels.
  • Convert enquiries into sales by understanding customer requirements, recommending suitable products, preparing quotations and invoices, and proactively following up on sales opportunities.
  • Deliver professional, timely and customer-focused communication across all digital channels.
  • Provide product information, images, links and order updates while maintaining Cater Wize's customer service standards.
  • Ensure all customer enquiries, sales opportunities and follow-ups are actioned promptly and no sales lead is left unattended.
  • Escalate complex product, technical or service-related queries to the relevant departments where required.

Online Platform & Order Management

  • Process and manage customer orders received through the Cater Wize website, Takealot and other online sales platforms.
  • Coordinate deliveries, courier bookings and order fulfilment, ensuring customers receive confirmations, tracking information and tax invoices.
  • Process returns, credit notes and customer order amendments where applicable.
  • Monitor platform requirements, lead times and inventory to ensure efficient order fulfilment and customer satisfaction.

Sales Administration

  • Prepare accurate quotations, invoices and sales documentation.
  • Maintain accurate records of customer interactions, quotations, orders and sales activities.
  • Produce sales-related reports and assist with sales administration as required.
  • Respond to work-related communication professionally and within agreed service levels.
  • Support month‑end administrative activities and other sales administration requirements.

Sales Performance & Team Support

  • Achieve individual sales conversion, response time and customer service targets.
  • Maximize sales opportunities through proactive follow‑up, cross‑selling and product recommendations.
  • Conduct post‑sale follow‑ups to ensure customer satisfaction and encourage repeat business.
  • Support colleagues across the online and showroom sales functions during busy periods and contribute to overall sales objectives.
  • Participate in team meetings, training and continuous improvement initiatives.

Requirements:
  • At least 2 years’ experience in customer service or online sales support, digital sales or similar customer‑service role.
  • Experience with Respond.io or similar CRM/chat management platforms
  • Exposure to Takealot, Amazon, or e‑commerce backends is advantageous
  • Strong working knowledge of MS Office/Google Workspace
  • Knowledge of catering/hospitality equipment is a plus but not essential
