Job Description

Takeda Oncology seeks a Sales Professional to contribute to our vision of curing cancer. You will report to the Regional Director and work with key stakeholders.

How you will contribute
  • Implement overall marketing and brand strategy for targeting and deployment of resources to key customers.
  • Formulate effective strategies to achieve sales goals and product positioning within target accounts.
  • Provide on-label clinical data to influence appropriate use of assigned product.
  • Initiate and develop business relationships with high-level decision makers and other influential groups.
  • Formulate strategies to utilize account‑specific targeted marketing materials to educate and address the needs of key stakeholders.
  • Create account‑specific business plans and strategies to gain access to key stakeholders.
  • Provide real‑time analysis and input on market conditions to Home Office colleagues for development of targeted marketing strategies and materials.
  • Apply expertise in own functional/technical area to implement plans and achieve individual, team, and organizational sales goals.
  • Maintain high competency in product knowledge, disease states, industry/competitive landscape, and organizational structure.
  • Analyze data and prepare material for business reviews.
  • Act as a technical/functional subject matter resource for colleagues and customers, while acquiring higher‑level technical skills.
  • Complete accurate reporting and submit on time, including monthly territory action plan, expense reports, itinerary, sample inventory, speaker requests, and budget tracking.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with all internal stakeholders and cross‑functional partners across Takeda Oncology.
  • Utilize company resources prudently, consistent with all guidelines.
  • Report all adverse events related to products promptly and compliantly.
  • Maintain a high level of understanding of distribution and delivery for oral molecules.
Minimum Requirements / Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree and 5+ years of oncology or related specialty pharmaceutical experience.
  • Strong presentation and communication skills.
  • High comprehension of scientific knowledge and ability to communicate with medical professionals in a compliant manner.
  • Strong computer and technical skills; navigate software programs to process and analyze territory‑specific data.
  • Valid driver’s license in good standing.
Preferred
  • Previous launch experience in oncology.
  • Established rapport and relationships in desired geographic area.
  • Previous oncology selling experience.
  • Large account management experience in oncology, emphasizing key large oncology community practices, academic and NCI/NCCN cancer centers.
Travel Requirements
  • Range from 20‑30% travel depending on territory.
  • Territory:
    Roanoke VA, Charlottesville VA, Sterling VA, Fredericksburg VA, Fairfax VA, Arlington VA, Bethesda MD, Silver Springs MD.
Training Requirements

This position is contingent upon successfully passing mandatory product training, which includes written and oral examinations.

During the training period only, the employee is classified as non‑exempt and eligible for overtime. The training period consists of up to 8 hours per day and 40 hours per week.

After successful completion the employee transitions to exempt status and applies for sales incentive programs and contests.

Compensation and Benefits Summary

Location:

Virginia – Virtual

U.S. hourly wage range: $78.27 – $107.62

Positioning, benefits and wages may vary depending on qualifications, experience, skills, education, certifications, licensing, and location. Wages will meet state or local minimum wage requirements.

U.S. based employees may be eligible for short‑term incentives, medical, dental, vision insurance, 401(k) with match, short‑ and long‑term disability, basic life insurance, tuition reimbursement, paid volunteer time off, company holidays, well‑being benefits, up to 80 hours of sick time, and up to 120 hours of paid vacation for new hires.
