Territory Account Manager – Overview

The Territory Account Manager (TAM) is responsible for driving revenue growth and customer satisfaction across a defined territory by managing strategic accounts and promoting a broad portfolio of life science products and solutions including Cell Health, Centrifugation, Laboratory Automation, Genomic Chemistries, and Research Flow Cytometry. The TAM acts as a trusted advisor to key stakeholders in academia, biotech, pharma, and research organizations in San Francisco, California.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and execute strategic account plans for key customers in the San Francisco Bay Area to drive long‑term growth and loyalty.
  • Build and maintain multi‑level relationships across key stakeholders, including procurement, lab managers, principal investigators, and distribution partners.
  • Serve as primary point of contact across all product lines, driving cross‑product line lead generation, consumables ownership, and strategic account growth.
  • Lead quarterly business reviews with key accounts to assess performance, identify opportunities, and align on priorities.
  • Partner cross‑functionally with product specialists, application scientists, customer service, and distributors to deliver a seamless customer experience.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field with 2–5 years’ experience in Life Sciences and/or Academic/Government sales or other B2B sales.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills with solid understanding of tactical sales skills (prospecting, qualifying, closing, and growing existing customers).
  • Highly motivated and success‑driven with a track record of success ideally in Life Science, Government, and/or Academic sales.
  • Excellent time and territory management habits and strong interpersonal skills; team player.
  • Experience with funnel management, forecast accuracy, data analysis, Microsoft Office, AI, and CRM (SFDC) preferred.
  • Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record; ability to travel within the San Francisco Bay Area (~4 days per week) with minimal overnight travel.
Compensation and Benefits

Base salary range: $100,000 – $115,000. Eligible for Sales Incentive Compensation (SIC) with total target compensation at plan (base + SIC) of $189,650 – $204,650 annually.

Benefits include paid time off, medical/dental/vision insurance, 401(k) eligibility, and a comprehensive benefits package. Remote work arrangement is available for eligible roles, and the position may be performed from home.
