Job Description
Takeda is seeking a Specialty Business Manager (SBM) for Dermatology sales. The SBM will drive demand post regulatory approval through education, engaging healthcare providers (HCPs) and optimizing opportunities in targeted physician offices, clinics, and hospital accounts in the Dermatology therapeutic area. The role requires excellence in developing and applying business processes to achieve sales goals.
How you will contribute- Support account onboarding through education.
- Engage in clinical selling activities, delivering the clinical value proposition and advancing customers across a brand educational continuum.
- Support initial clinical and patient access education for medical staff.
- Coordinate and support clinical education opportunities, including peer-to-peer education.
- Conduct account management activities within Dermatology practices, clinics, and outlets, including independent physician offices.
- Attain sales goals by delivering product volume and other key metrics in the assigned territory, executing franchise and brand strategy within the customer segment.
- Establish professional relationships with HCP decision makers and support staff to facilitate safe and effective use of the company’s products.
- Develop and deliver a targeted sales message to HCPs, utilizing approved marketing materials and medical reprints, and discuss therapeutic strategies.
- Execute local marketing strategies, leveraging resources and collaborating with team members and counterparts.
- Present complex clinical and business information on the assigned products to dermatologists, health care professionals, and patient groups.
- Develop and implement medical education opportunities and sponsor programs to expand professional knowledge.
- Strategically manage all allocated resources, including financial and budgetary responsibilities, managed markets, medical affairs, and home office.
- Exemplify Takeda’s patient‑first values, uphold compliance policies, and demonstrate leadership and integrity.
- Bachelor’s degree (BA/BS).
- 3+ years of successful selling experience in pharmaceutical, biotech, medical device, or relevant clinical or industry experience; or 2+ years selling experience at Takeda.
- Experience calling dermatologists (Dermatology experience highly preferred).
- Demonstrated business and strategic planning skills to identify unique selling opportunities and adapt to changing market conditions.
- Understanding of the managed care landscape and its impact on business.
- Strong verbal, influencing, presentation, and written communication skills.
- Strong collaboration skills and success working in teams.
- Reside within or close proximity to the assigned geography.
- Minimum of 5 years’ direct selling experience to healthcare professionals in the pharmaceutical, biotech, device, or healthcare industry.
- Experience calling dermatologists.
- Experience managing and communicating complex reimbursement issues.
- Position and continued employment depend on successfully passing mandatory product training, including written and oral examinations.
- During the training period, the employee will be a non‑exempt employee eligible for overtime under applicable law; not eligible for sales incentive programs or bonuses.
- After successful completion, the employee will transition to exempt status, no longer eligible for overtime, and eligible to participate in Takeda sales incentive programs and contests.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Ability to drive and/or fly to accounts and occasional business meetings.
- Some overnight travel of up to 25–50% may be required depending on geographic assignment.
Pay range:
Hourly wage $63.51 – $87.31 for USA – FL – Lakeland (likely adjusted by qualifications and local wage laws).
