Role Overview

The Account Manager, POC/MDx is a front‑line, customer‑facing, quota‑carrying role responsible for driving sales and growth of Quidel Ortho Point of Care (POC) product lines including Sofia, Triage and Molecular (MDx). This field‑based position serves the Tennessee territory and is based in a home office.

Key Responsibilities
  • Drive sales of POC, MDx, and Triage products, instrumentation, and services within the assigned territory or list of named accounts.
  • Meet equipment revenue targets and grow the POC menu by creating value beyond features and price.
  • Maximize customer retention by ensuring satisfaction, executing touchpoint/call plans, territory management, and acting as the single point of contact for problem resolution.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with distribution partners to drive sales revenue and profitability.
  • Provide timely and accurate sales forecasts, activity updates, and reports via CRM; effectively manage the sales pipeline from lead acquisition to contract signing.
  • Represent Quidel Ortho at trade shows, professional meetings, and provide or facilitate training on products to customers and distributor representatives.
  • Collaborate with other sales teams to retain and expand the menu, understand and execute the IDN strategy, and meet or exceed established touchpoints per week.
  • Perform other work‑related duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Experience
  • Bachelor’s Degree.
  • Minimum 3 years of sales experience in the Healthcare industry, preferably B2B or distribution sales.
  • Sales and/or technical experience in the medical device/life science/diagnostic market.
  • Strong strategic marketing, consultation, and data analysis skills.
  • Strategic thinking and the ability to translate strategies into actionable plans.
  • Proven ability to deliver results in an independent, fast‑paced team environment.
  • Commercial and business acumen with proficiency at uncovering key business issues and providing actionable recommendations.
  • Entry‑level people‑management and development skills.
  • Experience managing complex sales cycles internally and externally.
  • Ability to analyze financial data and generate logical strategies and plans.
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Strong presentation and negotiation skills.
  • Proficiency in selling with digital assets.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication.
  • Commitment to upholding and supporting company values, ethics, procedural compliance, and confidentiality.
  • Self‑motivated, self‑managed, and able to follow general supervision.
  • Not currently eligible for visa sponsorship.
Travel &

Physical Requirements

Up to 70% domestic overnight travel; must possess a valid driver’s license and own an automobile suitable for travel.

Compensation & Benefits
  • Salary range: $80,000 – $100,000, eligible for incentive compensation.
