Job Summary
Business Development Manager, Field Engineering – Remote United States. Responsible for generating new business and ensuring future growth of specified SBD product lines and complementary tools and accessories. Drive the "Spec to Sale" process by collaborating with national owners, design teams, and cross‑functional partners.
Responsibilities- Develop a strong technical understanding of specified products (SBD/DEWALT brands) and how they are used in construction, including building code compliance.
- Build and maintain relationships with key owners and design teams within SBD focus verticals in the U.S.
- Influence designers, architects, and engineers to specify DEWALT fasteners in corporate standards through scheduled visits, education, and technical communication.
- Collaborate with sales, product, engineering, and marketing to deliver customized solutions that address complex owner and end‑user needs.
- Hold technical presentations and training seminars for design professionals, covering design of SBD/DEWALT products, testing details, performance, strength calculations, and code requirements.
- Support and build sales on specification and conversion in conjunction with local field engineers and sales teams, providing technical job‑site support as needed.
- Assist in the specification of proprietary anchor solutions for clients and communicate customer feedback to product managers for future product development.
- Represent DEWALT at industry events, trade shows, and key meetings, positioning the company as a trusted partner for national accounts.
- Maintain client records in CRM.
- Bachelor of Science in Civil/Structural Engineering or equivalent qualification.
- Professional Engineering (P.E.) license preferred; EIT required.
- Minimum of 7 years’ experience in a technical sales role.
- Impeccable communication skills – both spoken and written – mandatory.
- Strong organizational, prioritization, and time‑management skills in a fast‑paced environment.
- Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, follow‑up, and documentation abilities.
- Proficient with Bluebeam, Procore, MS Office suite; experience with is a plus.
- Excellent presentation skills in front of large groups.
- High energy, outgoing, and goal‑oriented with a drive to exceed targets.
- Self‑starter capable of managing own schedule and working from home.
- Structural Engineering design and construction job‑site experience required.
- Travel up to 30% within the assigned territory.
Base salary range: $105,000 – $169,100 (total target cash compensation). Eligible for sales incentive plan or commission.
