Sales Representative, Technical Sales, Business Development

What you will be doingIn this role, you will be responsible for calling on Facility Managers, Security Directors, IT Directors, and Construction and Planning Departments within an end user account. You will partner with local selling partners—including wholesalers, integrators, locksmiths, and distributors—to maximize positive impact with end user accounts. You will be a sales professional capable of relationship and technical solution selling within the commercial construction, multi-family, and property management market segments to gain approval for the product lines represented by Door Security Solutions.
Keyareas you will contribute to the role include
- Communicate effectively with a variety of decision makers and influencers including locksmiths, facility managers, IT networking managers, and executives.
- Develop short and long-term sales plans.
- Identify and classify the sales potential of each client.
- Establish a network of clients with a high level of trust, developing relationships quickly and easily.
- Sell opening solutions as a consultant using a communication approach that can be effective with a diverse audience.
- Apply discovery abilities including prospecting, profiling, qualifying, identifying client needs, and presenting solutions.
- You have an entrepreneurial spirit and are excited about selling a full range of door opening solutions.
- You are detail-oriented, organized, and known for follow-up habits.
- You are a self-motivated, organized individual who takes pride in attention to details and accuracy in their work.
- You’re a multi-tasker who can manage time and projects proficiently.
- You’re a strong communicator, active listener, and negotiator.
- You can work independently but believe in teamwork.
- You have the ability to read, understand specifications/facility standards, and have industry-related technical and sales aptitude.
- Ability to travel and meet to the requirements of customers.
- Ability to perform responsibilities both in a home office environment or while traveling.
- You can lift/carry up to 50 lbs. of sample and display material for sale presentations.
- Your background includes a college or university degree (preference for a specialization in architectural design/engineering, construction science/management, or similar), or work experience commensurate with a minimum high school/GED diploma.
- Minimum 2–3 years of sales experience, with building material or construction-related experience preferred; five or more years of experience is preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools.
- Utilization and maintenance of CRM tools for sales and activity reporting.
- Working knowledge of industry-related software is a plus.
