AboutThe Role
Financials Account Executive in Education – you will partner in business development, selling to prospective key accounts across higher education.
Role & Responsibilities- Drive complex sales, operate in a team selling environment, and demonstrate strong project management skills.
- Initiate and run sales cycles, maximizing the Workday Financial products suite including Accounting, Planning, and Expense Management; lead the process, negotiations, agreements, and closing plans.
- Use consultative selling skills to initiate long‑standing executive‑level relationships with prospective customers.
- Leverage finance and ERP expertise to drive demand for Cloud Financial Management and position Workday as a viable alternative ERP solution.
- Coordinate, collaborate, and provide direction to team members and sales/services resources.
- 8+ years of professional software sales experience, including team selling.
- 5+ years selling SaaS/Cloud ERP, Financial, or Planning solutions to C-level executives within higher education.
- 5+ years of experience working within finance and/or with finance executives.
- Deep financial product knowledge and confidence in leading discussions with CFOs and finance teams; experience across multiple industries.
- Proven ability to own and support complex sales cycles from start to finish; experience with transformational and consultative selling.
- Ability to quickly understand business challenges and create solutions; appreciation of the finance function’s current challenges.
- Enjoys working in a team, contributing best practices, and maintaining a continuous learning mentality.
- Strong organization and communication skills to drive urgency; adept at maintaining accurate pipeline and forecast data.
Annualized base salary ranges for primary and additional locations: $141,000 – $211,500 USD. The role may qualify for a bonus plan, commission, and stock grants. Compensation is based on geography, experience, job duties, and business need.
