Description

Position Purpose – Responsibilities/Duties/Functions/Tasks

Responsibilities
  • Proactively solicit new residential mortgage clients and develop a strong referral network.
  • Analyze borrower financial and credit data to determine creditworthiness and repayment probability.
  • Originate sales by contacting prospective clients.
  • Maintain referral sources.
  • Spend at least one or two hours a day, two or more times a week outside the office (including a home office), originating loans.
  • Meet prospective clients at locations other than PRMI’s offices (e.g., client’s home).
  • Meet clients in person to sell mortgage loan products/packages.
  • Contact clients by telephone, mail, and e‑mail as adjunct to in‑person contacts.
  • Obtain credit information and necessary documentation for the application process.
  • Make in‑person calls outside the office to real estate agents, brokers, financial advisors, and other potential referral sources to develop borrower leads.
  • Engage in marketing and promotional activities to support own sales.
  • Develop new and continued business opportunities by cultivating relationships with realtors, builders, bankers, etc.
  • Develop solid PRMI product knowledge and offer clients the best mortgage products to match their needs.
  • Review application information and request specific supporting documentation as needed based on loan investor guidelines.
  • Analyze and exercise independent judgment to advance PRMI’s business objectives and customer interests regarding significant financial decisions.
  • Carry out major assignments affecting business operations, including collecting and analyzing customer income, assets, investments, or debts; analyzing applicant data, credit, and collateral property value; determining appropriate financial products; providing product advantages and disadvantages; marketing, servicing, or promoting employer’s financial products.
  • Complete necessary continuing education in a timely manner and remain current on local developments and trends within the real estate and mortgage industries.
  • Provide origination services in the state of licensure.
  • Create and maintain excellent business relationships with referral client base, generating new mortgage lending opportunities.
  • Correspond, communicate, and coordinate with clients, in‑house support staff, and external service providers to facilitate timely closings.
Qualifications
  • Sales experience in the mortgage industry preferred.
  • Familiarity with mortgage processes, procedures, rules, regulations, and compliance.
  • Exceptional customer service skills with strong attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong computer skills, including a working knowledge of MS Office.
  • Ability to comprehend and analyze financial information.
  • Ability to effectively communicate and present complex financial information while fielding and responding to questions from applicants, support staff, and management.
  • Established contact and referral list within the real estate and mortgage industries preferred.
  • Ability to pass a required background check.
