Job Overview
This hybrid position is approximately 90% remote/virtual and 10% onsite at distribution center offices located throughout the Southeast Region of the United States. The onsite requirement is about once per month or occasionally for training.
The Sales Coordinator serves as the primary point of contact for assigned Territory Managers and Customers, providing team selling, administrative support, and resolving questions/requests/issues promptly. They manage orders, engage customers, act as liaison between Customers, Territory Managers, District Sales Managers, and Product Sales Support Administrator, and coordinate with Operations, Credit & Transportation.

Main Responsibilities- Develop relationships with key customers, internal and external, to achieve US Foods Key Results.
- Contact customers for orders, add‑ons, etc.; process orders through internal systems; promote US as a source for order entry and value‑added services.
- Highlight ongoing promotions and opportunities to upsell/cross‑sell slow‑moving, close‑out, or special buy items.
- Collaborate with approximately 10 Territory Managers to support their customers via regular, scheduled contact and drive sales performance with suggestive, persuasive selling; maintain order guide in Edge and shopping lists in US
- Respond to customer and Territory Manager questions (e.g., price information) promptly, escalating to appropriate Market or Area resources when needed, and maintain ownership of follow‑up communications.
- Use proprietary US Foods systems and tools (US Foods Online, , Edge, PRISM, Retalix, EPS, DCT, SODS, CDMR, Tandem – SMOI, CES Quotes) to provide accurate, timely answers.
- Take responsibility for continuing professional development, attending sales meetings, product trainings, and cuttings to grow product and vendor knowledge.
- Provide administrative support: process credits, special orders, drop‑ships, reroute delivery days, call handling, etc.
- Respond to product receiving and pricing inquiries with accuracy and timeliness.
- Provide vacation/back‑up coverage to Territory Managers and weekend coverage for inbound Sales Coordinator calls.
- High School diploma or equivalent required;
Bachelor’s degree preferred. - Minimum three (3) years of customer service experience; food service distribution experience preferred; prior sales experience preferred but not required.
- Working knowledge of CRM tools (particularly ) a plus.
- Strong verbal communication, interpersonal skills, and solid problem‑resolution ability required.
- Customer service orientation with the ability to persuade customers to purchase products.
- Ability to process multiple issues simultaneously, driving them to resolution.
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
Overtime compensation is provided. Expected base rate: $17 - $26 per hour.
