Job Overview

The Strategic Group Executive is responsible for driving financial growth and enhancing brand recognition for Henry Schein’s Medical Group in the Midmarket Customer Segmentation. This includes Mid to Large size Physician Group Practices, Outpatient Care Facilities, and Emerging Specialty Markets with various ownership models. The position will identify, develop, and manage strategic high‑level partnerships to retain and grow business within the designated geographic region while collaborating with Zone Managers, Regional Managers, and Field Sales to train on market strategies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Identify, develop, and manage strategic partnerships to grow business.
  • Track and add qualified opportunities to the company sales‑pipeline portal.
  • Negotiate legal contract terms within company policies and maintain regular communication with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Deliver presentations to prospective customers and internal executives.
  • Coordinate with executives, sales, and marketing professionals to build a robust pipeline, capture accounts, sign new agreements, and assist with implementations and transition to sales and service teams.
  • Monitor sales, gross profit, and overall health of partnerships to maximize profitability and territory growth.
  • Present professional briefings to executives and support leadership in new business and existing customer reviews.
  • Comprehend and articulate customers’ Key Performance Indicators, Contract Compliance, and Financials for existing and prospective agreements.
  • Facilitate implementation of new business contract conversions, ensuring smooth onboarding and hand‑off to field teams.
  • Translate customer needs into revenue‑generation supply and service solution offerings.
  • Communicate strategic information to teams and management to execute competitive strategies across sales and marketing.
  • Share intelligence and recommendations to respond to competitive threats.
  • Use territory‑map planning to prioritize growth and manage sales‑call efficiency.
Specific Knowledge & Skills
  • Knowledge of medical organization structures: GPOs, RPCs, MSOs, IPAs, CHCs, IDNs, hospitals, ASC‑s, and physician office practices.
  • Understanding of private equity implications.
  • Familiarity with medical markets, trends, competition, and key manufacturers and distributors.
  • Basic knowledge of product categories: diagnostics, pharmaceuticals and vaccines, medical‑surgical supplies, medical equipment, and related services.
  • Computer skills: spreadsheets, word processing, PowerPoint, and online meeting platforms.
  • Basic knowledge of supply‑chain purchasing software and interaction with ERP systems (AP/AR).
  • Ability to discuss technologies such as punch‑out, cXML, XML, EDI, e‑catalogs, and hosted catalogs.
  • Comfort with website transactions and inventory‑management concepts.

Minimum Work Experience
  • 10+ years of progressively responsible professional experience with a proven track record of goal attainment and growth.
  • Minimum 5 years in medical sales or marketing within medical distribution or manufacturing.
  • Minimum 5 years working with full IDNs, independent outpatient care facilities, and/or large physician offices.
Preferred Education

Bachelor’s degree or global equivalent in a related discipline;
Master’s degree or equivalent a plus.

Business Travel / Physical Demands

Willing to travel at least 50% of the time, including within and outside the state of residence. Remote working environment acceptable. No special physical demands.
