Overview
The Medium Law Renewal Specialist is responsible for increasing Westlaw revenue, usage, and market share in assigned law firm accounts by leveraging legal research, training, sales, and marketing skills. The role requires an expert consultative approach, strong relationship building, and a deep understanding of Thomson Reuters products.
Responsibilities- Effectively meet customer needs and build productive relationships, taking responsibility for customer satisfaction and loyalty for Medium Law firm clients.
- Create sales solutions for Medium Law clients, providing high‑impact training that exceeds their needs and establishing long‑term relationships.
- Build credibility by working as a strong team player and delivering formal presentations; interact openly and build trust.
- Demonstrate strong negotiation skills by exploring alternatives and positions to achieve outcomes that gain support from all parties.
- Exhibit deep knowledge of Westlaw and its content add‑ons, the legal profession, and the legal publishing industry.
- Achieve assigned revenue account goals.
- Partner closely with Sales Executives to identify sales opportunities and support the renewal process in assigned accounts.
- Educate customers on the benefits of Westlaw over competitors and train them on its use.
- Coordinate training and local marketing efforts with assigned client accounts.
- Keep up to date on competitive activities in accounts and communicate information to management.
- Identify opportunities to leverage technology products aimed at increasing revenue and providing solutions.
- J.D. degree preferred; legal practice experience preferred.
- Strong communication, presentation, and Westlaw research skills.
- Customer service orientation and experience.
- Field account management and sales/marketing experience strongly preferred.
- Proficient in MS Office tools.
- Previous legal research training preferred.
- Ability to travel occasionally for training sessions, meetings, and customer locations.
- Hybrid work model with 2‑3 days per week in the office, and up to 8 weeks of work from anywhere per year.

Target total cash compensation range for this role is $106,400 USD – $197,600 USD. Base pay and any target sales incentive are part of a comprehensive total reward program.
