Account Executive – Oncology Territory

The Account Executive role is responsible for retaining and growing their territory of existing oncology customers. You will build and support relationships with customers at multiple levels, work with internal teams, and align McKesson products and services to meet customer business objectives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Strategize, prioritize, and execute sales activities to create opportunities with new and existing practices.
  • Lead Quarterly Business Reviews (QBRs), conduct monthly customer meetings, and facilitate end‑of‑quarter business discussions to drive growth and strengthen partnerships.
  • Identify strategically important customers and decision makers, and develop relationships with them.
  • Participate in continuous customer planning, assess customer value, and shape account strategies.
  • Proactively develop and expand networks to generate opportunities.
  • Understand practice processes, buying cycles, and decision drivers; articulate ROI/value of products and solutions.
  • Respond quickly to customer needs, resolve problems, and implement effective feedback systems.
  • Act as both internal and external customer liaison, support all activities, and resolve issues promptly.
  • Work with internal teams (operations, finance, customer care, GPO, generics, contracts, legal, etc.) to meet agreed goals.
  • Analyze sales reports and customer trends to identify and capture opportunities for cross‑selling and new products.
Minimum Requirements
  • Degree or equivalent with 4+ years of relevant experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, health administration, communications, or a related healthcare field (preferred).
  • 4+ years of progressive experience in sales or service.
  • Professional communication skills, able to express complex messages to physicians and administrative staff.
  • Experience in oncology or related specialty (preferred).
Preferred Qualifications
  • Intermediate proficiency with MS Office,  or other CRM (SAP experience a plus).
  • Experience delivering customer quarterly business reviews or analyzing performance and communicating value.
  • Demonstrated success in customer growth and retention.
  • Experience establishing executive‑level relationships and conducting executive‑level meetings and presentations.
  • Ability to build and coordinate a team of professionals to deliver customer value.
  • Experience with pharmaceutical products, preferably oncology, and the buy‑and‑bill model.
Travel & Working Conditions
  • Travel up to 50% of the time within the territory (mostly day travel). Must have a valid driver’s license with a clean, unrestricted driving record.
  • Remote/Home Office work environment; candidate must live within the East Region (New Jersey, New York, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania).
  • Authorised to work in the US; this position is not eligible for sponsorship.
Compensation and Benefits

The Total Target Cash (TTC) Pay Range for this position is $139,000 – $231,600. TTC is defined as base pay plus target incentive. In addition to base pay, other compensation, such as an annual bonus or long‑term incentive opportunities, may be offered.
