Role Overview
Territory Manager II – Pain and Interventional Therapies. Remote position requiring residence within the designated territory and regular travel (≈50% driving). Valid driver’s license and active vehicle insurance required. Reports to a District Sales Manager.
Responsibilities- Sells implantable devices for specific therapies to physicians, institutions, payors, and other medical staff.
- Partners with strategic implanting centers to develop the account/implanter practice.
- Provides product and therapy technical support and service, including consultation on sales trends.
- Utilizes Neuro business partners to present marketing and business plans for territory development.
- Generates new sales by developing leads, recruiting surgeons, qualifying prospects, and making sales calls.
- Grows new interventional and pain opportunities, meeting or exceeding quota with limited supervision.
- Responds to customer complaints per Medtronic policy and reports beyond scope of authority.
- Stays informed of competitor product and merchandising practices, informing the District Sales Manager.
- Prepares and submits call reports as required and attends sales meetings, training, conventions, and trade shows.
- Aids in creating and implementing an annual business plan with quarterly updates.
- Provides customer service per individual needs, responding timely to all reporting requirements.
- Manages business within assigned budgets while ensuring Medtronic profitability.
- Minimum Requirements
High School Diploma (or equivalent) and 6+ years of relevant sales, clinical or related experience in medical device/Medtech; or Associate’s Degree and 4+ years; or Bachelor’s Degree and 2+ years. - Nice to Have
Experience calling physicians in neurology, physiatrist, oncology, internal medicine, or primary care; knowledge of reimbursement climate; 1+ year referral/therapy development; experience with surgeons; innovative market development; daily referral calls; familiarity with OR; business planning, territory financial analysis; managed‑care knowledge; physiology/clinical therapies; implantable devices; interpersonal, communication, negotiation, and leadership skills; comfort in rapid growth environments. - Proficient in quality policy/system compliance and work procedures.
- Independent mobility required; frequent computer use and communication with peers.
- Travel to customer clinics, hospitals, and off‑site meetings; ability to drive 50% of time within territory.
- Valid driver’s license and active vehicle insurance; driving record evaluated.
Position is 100% commission‑based with a Sales Incentive Plan for incentive compensation upon achieving or exceeding goals.
