Sponsor a Purpose is building a fundraising and donor management platform designed specifically for nonprofit organizations.
Our platform helps nonprofits manage donors, collect donations, automate communications, organize fundraising activity, and strengthen relationships with the people who support their mission.
We are an early‑stage company, which means interns will work directly with leadership, contribute to real projects, and have a visible impact on how the company grows.
The RoleWe are looking for a motivated Sales & Partnerships Intern to help identify nonprofit organizations that could benefit from Sponsor a Purpose and begin conversations with their leadership teams.
This is not a passive internship or a position focused on shadowing. You will gain hands‑on experience with prospect research, outreach, CRM management, sales messaging, relationship building, and startup growth.
The right person is comfortable communicating with new people, learning quickly, and taking ownership of their work.
Responsibilities- Research nonprofit organizations and identify qualified prospective clients
- Find and verify contact information for executive directors, development leaders, fundraising staff, and other decision‑makers
- Conduct outreach through email, phone, Linked In, and other appropriate channels
- Introduce nonprofit leaders to Sponsor a Purpose and explain how the platform can support their fundraising efforts
- Schedule introductory calls and product demonstrations for the leadership team
- Maintain accurate prospect records, notes, tasks, and follow‑up activity in the CRM
- Help test and improve sales messaging, outreach sequences, and prospecting strategies
Follow up with interested organizations and keep opportunities moving forward - Research potential referral partners, consultants, associations, and nonprofit service providers
- Share feedback from conversations to help improve our product, positioning, and sales process
- Current college student, recent graduate, or early‑career professional
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Comfortable reaching out to people you have not spoken with before
- Organized and capable of managing multiple conversations and follow‑up tasks
- Able to work independently in a remote environment
- Willing to learn new technology and sales tools
- Professional, dependable, and responsive
- Interest in sales, business development, marketing, startups, technology, or the nonprofit sector
- Previous sales experience is helpful but not required. We care more about initiative, communication ability, coachability, and consistent execution.
- What You Will Gain
- Direct experience building a sales pipeline for an early‑stage technology company
- Practical training in prospecting, cold outreach, qualification, follow‑up, and relationship management
- Experience using CRM, email outreach, research, and sales automation tools
- Exposure to nonprofit fundraising, donor management, and financial technology
- Direct coaching and feedback from company leadership
- Measurable results you can discuss in future interviews
- The opportunity to help shape a growing company’s sales strategy
- Strong performers may be considered for an expanded internship, paid sales position, or ongoing role as the company grows.
A successful intern will consistently identify qualified nonprofit prospects, maintain accurate CRM activity, conduct professional outreach, schedule meaningful conversations, and help the company learn which messages and audiences generate the strongest response.
How to Apply- Please submit your resume and a brief response to the following questions:
- Why are you interested in sales, startups, or nonprofit technology?
- What experience do you have communicating with customers, organizations, or new contacts?
