The Sales Applications Engineer will manage and grow a pre-established territory in Northern Illinois, build new business through prospecting, and handle client leads. This sales‑engineering role involves extensive field work, working directly with customers and prospects to uncover opportunities and identify appropriate products and solutions.

• Customer‑facing: strategize and determine a solution to win orders.
• Present solutions to key decision makers.
• Schedule appointments, prepare and deliver presentations to clients, and research their business and requirements.
• Maintain customer relationships and ensure customer loyalty through excellent service.
• Work with cross‑functional teams to create and implement strategies for optimal success.
• Analyze technical challenges and determine solutions to implement applications.
• Develop an in‑depth knowledge of Tri‑Phase products.
• Provide technical demos and presentations on products and solutions.
• Based out of the Elgin, IL office with possible remote work; minimal overnight travel and occasional vendor training travel.
• Be available for evening or weekend work to meet deadlines or urgent customer demands.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• Experience with PLC, HMI, robotics, sensors, safety, machine vision, and industrial motion control products is a plus.
• Experience in an automation or manufacturing environment is preferred.
• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Industrial Engineering is a plus.
• Strong sales and communication skills.
