Job Description
Job Summary:
Step into a high-energy, results-oriented role as a Business Development Officer. You will play a dynamic role in expanding our client base and fueling firm growth by visiting qualified prospects in market. This role blends field sales activities with a strategic focus on client engagement and development, allowing you to leverage both in-person and virtual interactions to drive business growth.
Key Responsibilities:
Client Acquisition & Business Development:
- Pursue and develop relationships with key decision-makers at banks and other financial institutions to build a client base.
- Conduct dynamic face-to-face meetings and virtual consultations to understand prospect needs.
- Collaborate with business development department to successfully hand-off prospect relationships by setting expectations, transferring knowledge, and conducting introductions.
- Actively develop and maintain a pipeline of prospect leads and investors through traditional sales methods.
- Learn, promote, and market a range of the SBV platform strategies.
- Collaborate with senior management to create and implement marketing strategies and campaigns.
- Achieve individual and corporate weekly, monthly, and quarterly KPI goals (bank visits, calls, connects, appointments, meetings, presentations, etc.) and end-stage objectives (revenue generation).
- Manage & prioritize opportunities through consistent and appropriate follow-up and communication, maintaining accurate notes and process within our CRM system.
Work Environment (Hybrid):
- The week will include 4 days in-market travel and 1 day in-office.
- Rolling month average will be 3 weeks predominantly in-market travel and 1 week in-office remote work.
- In-market travel will include on average visiting 4-7 financial institutions per day.
- Travel may include visiting prospects, attending networking events, and visiting headquarters in San Antonio, TX.
- Standard business hours with occasional evening or weekend commitments based on client availability and/or firm deadlines.
Collaboration and Team Synergy:
- Work closely with the Business Development Department and other members of the firm to synchronize efforts and amplify success.
- Engage in team meetings, training sessions, and continuous professional development activities.
- Develop expertise in all aspects of firm's products, services, and leading-edge sales development approaches appropriate to our audience through internal and external training.
Qualifications:
Experience: Proven experience in outside sales or a similar role preferably in the financial industry.
Skills: Strong sales and negotiation skills; excellent C-suite communication and interpersonal abilities; proficiency in CRM software and Microsoft Office Suite.
Certifications: Series 65 or comparable (CFA, ChFC, CFP, CIC, or PFS). Willing to sponsor S65 if not currently possessed.
Other: Ability to work independently and manage time effectively; flexibility to adapt to changing client needs and market conditions, professional work-from-home environment, goal-oriented and results-driven.
