Rare Disease Business Manager, AlphaCharlotte, NC

Overview

Rare Disease Business Manager – Alpha‑1 (clinical sales professional) supporting Charlotte, NC, southern portions of NC, northern portions of SC, and surrounding areas. Report to the Sr. Regional Business Director.

• Achieve sales quotas through new patient starts, outpatient infusion center sales, and hospital sales while maintaining patient retention on Takeda augmentation therapy.
• Educate and inform healthcare professionals (pulmonology, allergy/immunology, respiratory therapists, selected internal medicine/primary care) on Takeda Alpha‑1 brands and product benefits.
• Build a national sales and marketing strategy, complying with all regulatory and internal guidelines, and create a territory tactical plan to maximize opportunity.
• Conduct sales presentations, provide product technical and administrative information, and deliver demonstrations to practice sites.
• Maintain compliance with promotional and expense policies.
• Partner with home office personnel, marketing/brand teams, and national and corporate account teams to drive product pull‑through.
• Use Microsoft applications and Takeda’s customer management system for reporting and account management.
• Lead community education events for healthcare professionals and patients; occasional nights and weekend travel may be required.
• Promote the Takeda culture through positive relationship building and engagement activities.

• Bachelor’s degree (minimum) and clinical sales background.
• 5+ years of successful, relevant healthcare sales experience.
• Experience working with payor and reimbursement challenges.
• Strong organizational and territory planning skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Experience with specialty biologics (injections/infusions) and specialty pharmacies is preferred.
• Knowledge of plasma‑derived therapies, rare diseases, or biotechnology is desirable.
• Valid driver’s license, acceptable driving record, and ability to drive leased or rental company vehicles.
• Anticipated travel up to 50% of the time including overnight travel; local travel and occasional weekends as required.
