About the RoleWe’re hiring a remote Account Executive who will be the face of our brand for prospective customers. The role involves delivering 1:1 concierge onboarding and consultative sales experiences, handling inbound and outbound opportunities from first contact to close, and owning a book of accounts.
Key responsibilities include speaking to busy Executive Directors, Development Directors, Grants Managers, and professional grant‑writing consultants, conveying warmth, kindness, and competence, and contributing to Instrumentl’s growth as a hunter who understands institutional fundraising.
Position is remote and requires you to be based in the continental United States.

What You’ll Get to DoPipeline & Closing
- Become an expert on grants and institutional fundraising to have genuinely useful conversations with prospects
- Outbound into your book of business using creative, personalized tactics to generate pipeline
- Run a mix of high‑velocity and longer sales cycles with warmth and precision, from first contact through close
- Follow up with prospects quickly and be highly responsive to their questions
- Experiment with new onboarding flows and sales pitches to accelerate growth
Customer Experience & Feedback
- Deliver concierge‑level onboarding experiences that upgrade customers’ institutional fundraising workflows and help them love the Instrumentl brand
- Provide product and design input on the first‑time user experience
- Surface insights from customer conversations to improve positioning and pitch
Required
- 2–4 years of closing experience in a high‑velocity, customer‑facing SaaS role (or similar environment)
- Empathy: driven to solve the actual, underlying problem for customers, especially problems that go unsaid
- Curiosity: effort to understand the true nature of the problem you want to address so you can provide the best solution
- Grit: understanding that mastery of any role requires hard work and coaching, and enjoyment of that challenge and journey
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Drive: desire to take control of your own success and build on existing processes
- Comfortable with tools such as G Suite, Zoom, Slack, and CRM platforms
