Summary
This entry-level position supports a team of Sales Consultants, helping achieve sales objectives through customer interaction, product ordering, training, and general sales support. The role focuses primarily on BD’s Vascular Access products, especially Safety IV Catheters, Accucath, and Power Glide, across multiple territories within a single region.
Responsibilities- Support the Sales Team in the field, gaining exposure through field rides and participating in sales calls to enhance skills.
- Attend sales training to learn BD’s vascular products and provide support to Sales Consultants.
- Protect and grow BD Vascular Access Device portfolio with a primary emphasis on Safety IV Catheters, Accucath, and Power Glide.
- Provide customers with product information and training.
- Inform customers of pricing, backorders, and company policies.
- Conduct comprehensive in‑service sessions of peripheral access products to relevant stakeholders.
- Work closely with Sales Consultant and Regional Business Manager to plan and prioritize sales calls, managing time effectively.
- Develop thorough knowledge of all peripheral access products.
- Maintain daily communication with both Territory Manager and District Manager within assigned geography.
- Report significant changes in customer accounts to Sales Consultant and Regional Business Manager.
- Report customer complaints following the Vascular Access Device (VAD) complaint procedure.
- Complete all associated administrative duties in a timely fashion.
- Cultivate new and existing customers to establish long‑term mutually beneficial relationships.
- Work a flexible schedule and travel up to 50% to meet customer needs.
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- One to four years of outside sales experience or equivalent preferred.
- Ability to travel up to 50%.
- Good interpersonal and communication skills.
- Willingness to relocate for available Territory Manager positions is preferred.
- Strong persuasion and influencing skills.
- Good judgment and professional behavior.
- Basic knowledge of anatomy, medical, and vascular terminology.
- Excellent listening and communication skills.
- Ability to effectively build and sustain professional relationships with hospital staff, other sales, and home office personnel.
