Associate Delivery Evangelist (Field Sales – Maryland)
This role supports a new delivery program by recruiting local businesses to join a hub-based delivery partner network. You will operate as an on-the-ground ambassador, visiting prospective businesses, pitching the program, qualifying leads, and guiding them through the application process. Working closely with a Field Manager and other local contractors, you will drive business recruitment through door-to-door outreach, community events, and partnerships with local organizations.
The position is field-based with regular travel of up to two hours from Grantsville, MD, and offers commission opportunities tied to partner conversions.
- Visit prospective businesses door to door in targeted towns within a driving radius of up to two hours from Grantsville, MD.
- Present and pitch the new delivery partner program to prospective businesses and generate interest in applying.
- Qualify prospective businesses based on program criteria and determine their fit for participation.
- Guide qualified businesses through the full application process, providing support and answering questions.
- Lead and track sales and recruitment activities in a CRM system, with a focus on maintaining an accurate pipeline in Salesforce.
- Support the Field Manager in planning and hosting recruitment events in the community, such as lunch-and-learn sessions and town hall meetings.
- Collaborate with the Field Manager to build relationships with local influencers, including chambers of commerce and economic development associations, to drive referrals and awareness.
- Import and update Excel spreadsheets into Salesforce on a weekly basis to ensure accurate data and reporting.
- Drive referrals through community organizations and local networks to expand the pool of prospective partners.
- Maintain a high level of professionalism and customer service when interacting with business owners and community stakeholders.
- Communicate clearly and persuasively with prospective partners, addressing questions, concerns, and objections.
- Manage time effectively to balance on-the-road business visits, event participation, and administrative tasks such as data entry and follow-up.
- Problem-solve in the field to help applicants overcome obstacles during the application and onboarding process.
- Consistently raise the bar for the delivery experience by helping recruit partners suited to complex last-mile delivery scenarios.
- 1–2+ years of experience in sales and/or customer service.
- Proven outside or field sales experience.
- CRM experience, with Salesforce strongly preferred.
- Strong customer service skills, with the ability to build rapport quickly with business owners.
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, to present and pitch program opportunities.
- Ability to manage a sales pipeline and track activities within a CRM system.
- Comfort working independently in a field-based role with frequent travel.
- Ability to travel up to 4 hours round-trip daily within the assigned territory.
- Proficiency with Excel for managing and importing data.
- Attention to detail when entering and managing data across multiple systems.
Skills & Qualifications
- Field sales experience is a plus beyond the required outside sales exposure.
- Prior experience in roles involving sales and/or negotiation with customers is a plus.
- Exceptional customer service and communication skills when engaging with diverse business owners.
- Demonstrated professionalism and enthusiasm for working with others in a collaborative environment.
- High sense of urgency and responsiveness when following up with prospects and partners.
- Strong problem-solving skills to support applicants and resolve issues in the field.
- Tech-savvy mindset, with experience working across multiple systems and technologies.
- Comfort presenting at community events such as lunch-and-learn sessions and town hall meetings.
- Motivation to work in a commission-based environment, with earnings tied to partner conversion milestones.
This role is primarily field-based, with significant time spent on the road visiting businesses and attending community events. You will typically be on the road 3–4 days per week, traveling within a territory of up to 2–3 hours around Grantsville, MD, with the remaining time spent working from home. Over time, the role can evolve to approximately a 50/50 split between field work and remote work, though higher travel is expected initially.
You will collaborate closely with a Field Manager and other local contractors while using tools such as Salesforce and Excel to manage leads and data. The position includes mileage reimbursement and a monthly phone allowance, reflecting regular use of a personal vehicle and mobile phone for work. The environment emphasizes independence, frequent face-to-face interaction with local businesses, and participation in community-based recruitment events.
