Design Consultant

Closet Factory of Birmingham is seeking passionate, upbeat, and professional salespeople with a proven track record to join our growing team.

As a Design Consultant, you will meet with homeowners to create customized solutions for closets, home offices, garages, entertainment centers, pantries, and more. We provide pre-set, qualified appointments based on the schedule you establish. While cold calling is not required, self-generated business is strongly encouraged and rewarded with a higher commission rate.

What You Will Do:

Meet with homeowners around Birmingham to design custom solutions for spaces such as:

• Closets and dressing rooms
• Pantries and laundry rooms
• Home offices and libraries
• Garages and mudrooms
• Entertainment centers
• Wall beds and storage systems

During each consultation, you will:

• Learn about the client's needs, preferences, and budget.
• Measure the space accurately.
• Create a customized design.
• Present the design, materials, and pricing.
• Guide the client through the purchasing decision.
• Follow up consistently and close the sale.
• Manage your appointments and sales pipeline independently.

Successful candidates will attend a biweekly sales meeting at office near Pell City, AL.

Candidates may come from backgrounds such as in-home sales, real estate, home improvement, interior design, furniture, luxury retail, automotive sales, hospitality or education.

Qualifications/Requirements:

• 2+ years Sales Experience, in-home sales experience a plus.
• Strong communication and listening skills
• Professional appearance and demeanor
• Ability to visit clients' homes around the Birmingham area
• Basic math and measurement skills
• Comfortable learning computer-based design and pricing software
• Comfortable working in a commission-driven environment
• Cell phone, reliable vehicle, laptop computer, and a clean driving record are required
