POSITION:
The Clinical Account Specialist (CAS) is a field-based role responsible for supporting the launch and ongoing growth of Ionis's first wholly owned commercial product within their respective territory as its indication expands beyond Familial Chylomicronemia Syndrome (FCS) to severe hypertriglyceridemia (SHTG). The CAS will possess a deep understanding of the healthcare landscape and the patients, providers, and care networks involved in treating cardiometabolic and lipid-related diseases.
The role will focus on engaging key customers and accounts, identifying opportunities to improve patient care, and building strong partnerships across the healthcare ecosystem.
The CAS will drive performance and collaborating with cross-functional partners and external customers to advance Ionis goals and come together to help patients in need.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Educate HCPs and office staff to raise sHTG disease state awareness, educate on diagnostic pathway, and instill an urgency to prioritize and treat appropriate sHTG patients.
- Create positive prescribing experience through value added resourcing and HCP/patient support materials and programs.
- Participate in conferences, congresses, and other scientific meetings to educate HCPs on sHTG disease state and treatment.
Market Knowledge
- Gather insights to profile accounts and provide feedback to field leadership and marketing to inform product sales & marketing strategy
- Understand local referral networks, including primary treaters, secondary treaters, and referral patterns for sHTG patients
- Identify, validate, and document potential HCPs treating sHTG patients to inform commercial strategy
Account Planning
- Execute the brand strategic plans by developing and executing customer focused territory strategic account plans to maximize business opportunities and customer satisfaction
- Build insight-driven focused tactics by understanding brand requirements & anticipating the current and future needs of our key customers including hospital and office-based Endocrinologists, Cardiologists and other sub-specialties, including targeted PCPs, that treat sHTG patients
- Adjust strategies to meet business goals in an assigned region through territory strategic insight
- Develop strategic account plans in conjunction with field and brand leadership to appropriately engage accounts based on customer needs and brand strategic objectives
Training
- Participate in field meetings and training programs to understand brand messaging strategy, severe hypertriglyceridemia disease state, and customer engagement tactics to effectively engage customers
- Certify on approved label, compliance training and all applicable customer engagement policies
- Learn and adhere to the company's mission and vision, policies and procedures, including the Ionis Code of Ethics and Business Conduct.
Teamwork
- Partner with cross-functional teammates to understand and address the unique needs of their customers, ensuring the customer and patient experience is held to the highest standards in a compliant manner.
