This position is eligible for remote work at the present time. The arrangement may be delayed for training or other job acclimation purposes and remains subject to change.
Your ResponsibilitiesAs a Small Ag Field Specialist for JD Ag & Turf located in Harrisburg, PA or Syracuse, NY, or surrounding areas you will:
- Leads initiatives supporting key Small Ag products and integrated solutions within an assigned geography, including 5 and 6 Series tractors, mowing and baling equipment, and associated technologies, by providing expert knowledge of product performance, applications, and system integration to support dealer, customer, and internal marketing activities.
- In tight coordination with the Region/local field teams, works directly with dealers and customers to understand operational needs and recommend right-sized equipment and solutions while delivering training, product demonstrations, and on-farm support to drive adoption and successful implementation.
- Partners with dealers to improve sales performance through goal setting, progress monitoring, and identification of opportunities to increase market share and strengthen product positioning. Represents John Deere at industry events, trade shows, and customer engagements to promote Dairy & Livestock and Small Acre solutions and build relationships with key stakeholders.
- Maintains strong alignment with field teams and cross-functional partners to ensure consistent execution of priorities, while capturing customer and dealer insights and translating them into actionable feedback for product development and marketing.
- Supports capability development across the channel by coaching and mentoring dealers, sales teams, and peers, and may provide work direction and performance support to enhance overall team effectiveness.
- Knowledge of tractors, hay/forage, or Small Ag systems
- Understanding of Dairy, Livestock, or Small Acre operations
- Customer and market analysis
- Ability to translate product features into customer value
- Experience working with dealers and customers
- Strong communication, training, and relationship skills
- Ability to work across teams
- Willingness to travel and support field activities
- Must live within an hour of the territory
- Deep expertise in hay, forage, and/or tractor applications (5/6 Series)
- Strong product demonstration and on-farm support experience
- Background in precision ag and system-level solutions
- Proven ability to influence dealer performance and drive sales execution
- Experience representing the organization in industry and customer-facing engagements
Ideally you will have a degree or equivalent related work experience in the following:
- University degree in Business, Agriculture, Marketing, Engineering or a related program or secondary education with relevant experience.
